Both of these CDF-Cal Fire trucks are older 1989-2001 International 4000 series, Model 14 or 15 Type III wildland fire engines. Seen here responding Code 3 to the scene of the Applegate Wildfire. They are driving in the emergency lane on I80 north of Sacramento. I took these shots through the rearview mirror of my car, I flipped these photos around so you don't see the trucks backwards. Both of these engines have a newer LED lightbar and after market reflector optic LED headlights.

Photographed by me in Lake Tahoe CA-NV back in 2010. This is a closeup of their 6 pointed star badge that you see in front of the doors. I edited out some bad reflection that was in the black paint surrounding the badge. This is part of my huge collection of motor vehicle photos going back years that I will be uploading over time.

Volkswagen Passat Estate Armed Response Vehicle.
One man in his twenties was arrested by police. I'm not sure of the reason why but it must have been serious, given the amount of police that were on scene.

This is either a Freightliner 108SD or 114SD setback 5 axle flatbed semi truck with a tractor mounted Palfinger crane. (The SD stands for severe duty). I'm guessing this was a private crew doing contract work for PG&E. The roof mounted LED warning lights on this truck are super bright. Photographed and filmed by me in Livermore, CA - this short clip is the 1st video I have uploaded to my Flickr acct. You can see pictures of many other types of cool trucks & other vehicles below this one and in my albums with more to follow soon.

I photographed this last generation 2011-2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty regular cab base model CHP pickup near the Applegate wildfire along I80 on October 8, 2014.
I photographed this box van ambulance in San Jose. Amazingly enough the Chevy Express van, which was originally introduced in 1996 along with its GMC Savannah twin, continues to exist through model year 2020 as both a cargo & passenger van. Its styling has remained unchanged since 2003.
These cool Ram 5500's belong to United Towing of Livermore. I photographed these recovery trucks and dozens more in October at the California Tow Truck Association's annual parade to raise awareness of the state Move Over Law. Be sure to slow down and move over for tow trucks & other emergency vehicles providing assistance alongside our busy roads or highways. Seen here in 2014 preparing to tow the disabled 2002 Lincoln Continental that I used to own. This was on a dangerous portion of I5 with virtually no shoulder near Yreka. If you see a tow truck or emergency vehicle on the side of the road with lights flashing be sure to slow down and move over.
