La Chiesa vecchia è una chiesa romanica del XIII secolo intitolata a San Michele Arcangelo, che si trova sulla strada che da Ruta porta a San Martino di Noceto.Poiché la tradizione la ritiene di origine anteriori all’anno Mille, viene anche denominata Chiesa Millenaria.Nelle sue adiacenze, durante il Medioevo, si ergevo un Hospitalae intitolato a San Bartolomeo: l’intero complesso costituiva un luogo di sosta, di ristoro e di soccorso per i viandanti che si recavano a Roma in pellegrinaggio.Incendiata nell’ottocento durante la ritirata delle truppe francesi, comandate dal generale Massena, venne restaurata agli inizi del secolo scorso nel rispetto dello stile originario mantenendo i suoi muri perimetrali divergenti, il soffitto di legno a vista, l’abside in conci di pietra del luogo e lo svettante campanile in pietra.

This is the beginning of a little collaborative series I did with my husband, Alex. He would like me to point out that it's not so much a 'collaboration' as him acting as my human tripod while I do selfies unconstrained by needing to set up a tripod. I think collaboration sounds nicer. Ether way, helping me out with this was his birthday present to me. As you will come to learn, trying to do this series without him would have been...well...a nightmare.
It begins in a Paris hotel room with a sleeping girl...and while asleep she dreams....
