Gorgeous chunks of natural rough cut lapis lazuili teamed with round lapis beads and sterling silver with a Karen hill tribe silver clasp.
Small wire wrapped Lapis Lazuli pendant. Great with everything from jeans to evening wear.
Wrapped with 16K Gold filled wire. Accented with 3 Swarovski crystals.
Measures approximately 1 x 2 inches.
I’m making new jewellery. This one is called synergy. It features agate cubes (heat-treated), hematite, red Jasper, snowflake obsidian, black onyx, denim lapis, copper, and ruby garnet. The blending of these stones will help to bring you into synergy. Namaste.

Fine Afgani Lapis with Pyrite. Approximately 9" x 5" x 3 1/2", ~6 pounds. Some day, it will be cut up for cabs to realize it's dollar value and make some nice jewelry, but it's a great speciman for now....

This sterling silver was hand formed. I set lapis rounds in the cages where they are free to move about. This is an example of my silversmithing work.
For my 6th HI, I have decided to go with Rebecca Sugar. She is an animator, composer and director. She is best known for creating the animated series "Steven Universe." The reason I chose her is because I admire her character designs and her work overall as an animator. Since the career I hope on pursuing is some kind of an animator/cartoonist, I look up to Rebecca Sugar as an inspiring role model. For my piece, I decided to use one of Rebecca's characters from her cartoon. I specifically chose this character above, because she directly relates to my theme. (ocean) The medium used is a digital art program similar to Photoshop, called GIMP. I decided to use this medium because I have not yet used it and it is different from the mediums I have used in the past. I also decided to use it to stick with the cartoon aspect of this piece. The artwork isn't 100% completed, as I would like to add more shading tones on the dress (to bring more depth) as well as to add more volume to the water she is jumping out of.

There are 50 chapters to this book. According to Sokol Books Ltd. in London on AbeBooks.com, “(these chapters) provide a dual commentary over subjects as diverse as memory, marriage, political power, fame, and eating habits. As de Bourgogne argues in the preface, the exercise proves that poor judgement sometimes allows vain conclusions to be drawn from truth. The work is critical of its own tradition, since other books of emblems encourage forming many different possible interpretations of word and image, both religious and profane….the volume is a fresh and innovative continuation of his earlier emblem work, Linguae vitia et remedia (1631) which focuses on remedies for the abuse of language through insults, lies, blasphemies, and calumnies.”
Abraham van Diepenbeeck was an accomplished Dutch painter of the Flemish School. He was a pupil and assistant of Peter Paul Rubens. He specialized in mythological and historical subjects in addition to portraits (Wikipedia).
This book illustrates the duality between the concepts of truth and vanity that occur in each of the 50 emblems. Each image, which is in an oval or octagon format, is accompanied by a few sentences of commentary. Without the commentary, these images would be difficult to interpret. This book has been inspired by a famous book of the Renaissance, the Ship of Fools (Basel, 1494), which was a compilation of 112 poems with similar themes (Deleitando ensena: Una leccion de emblematica).

Water down black, dark blue, light blue, and gold acrylics. Paint all but gold on cardstock in various places. After that, spray gold with toothbrush.
