"Oh my god, it's the kraken..."

WM-8 "Kraken" | A Primarily low-altitude attack gunship with limited spaceflight capabilities.

Spent more time and put a bit more effort into this build than a lot of my others in the past, and I'm really happy with the outcome. I think this is my best creation yet. Tried some new things with this one, including building a stand and using stickers. I like how the stand allows my to display the ship at a dynamic angle and the stickers add a very nice amount of detail. They were pulled from some galaxy force pieces I had.

This is the same composition I took some years ago (old picture can be found on my oldest pictures in my photostream).

I wanted to recreate the same shot with a better quality camera, I didn't have the EOS R in the first trip to Guadeloupe.

Conditions and the tree has changed a bit. I'm curious to know which version you prefer the most ? :)

Its been a short while since I posted on here. I am having quite a busy year so far and not all in a good way! Work is becoming more demanding and weather here in the UK has been pretty lacklustre for the purposes of photography, but still had the odd day where I have managed to capitalise on some decent conditions.

I also have a website up and running now which I have been working hard on, tweaking and adjusting things on there as I refine the look and content. You can find it here

www.simonlewis.photography

I am also now writing blogs there and seem to be building up a small but loyal audience of readers which is nice to know! (At least thats what my analytics tell me).

This is another image from the iconic Wistmans wood on Dartmoor. I really lucked into the mist on this day as I was almost tempted to go elswehere when i arrived at the car park to be greeted by a distinct lag of the grey clag! But stubborness paid off and it eventually drifted in from the surrounding hills allowing me an hour or so of some of the most spectacular woodland scenes I have ever witnessed.

Short one this time but if you miss my inane ramblings be sure to head to my website and have a read there! (shameless plugging i know!)

Toodles.

Misty morning at the docks in Connah's Quay, North Wales, UK.

Having presumably devoured the crew of the ‘Diddy Dodder’, the Kraken seems to have decided that there are bigger ships to try beyond the Mousehole harbour wall.

Of course, we all know that cephalopods are very intelligent, but this one seems to have forgotten all about his colour-changing camouflage capabilities. Hey ho. That’s self-confidence for you.

Some of you may have noticed that I took the title of one of John Wyndham’s famous novels for this photo. Wherever he is now, I hope he won’t mind.

Supposedly destroyed by the Amaterasu and the Poseidon at the battle of Dreytuk, the Kraken is a giant hive star destroyer. Seriously damaged themselves, the two Alliance capital ships retreated, leaving their escort ships to secure the Andromedan wreckage and wait for an Alliance towing ship. When the ship arrived, not a single piece of metal suggesting a battle was left and the escort ships are still missing.

The Andromedan council, knowing the Kraken was about to fall, sent reinforcement but the hive was already shoot down and the Alliance main ships just gone when they arrived. The reinforcement fleet destroyed the Alliance escort ships and had all the ships secretly brought back to Borealis VI, a stealth asteroid-station only the active Andromedan Council knows about.

There, during 3 years, the Kraken was resurrected, improved and kept secret.

Now equipped with one of the biggest gravity cannons of the galaxy, the hive can create black holes dense enough to prevent other ships to enter hyperspace and crush them under heavy pressure. The Kraken is deployed to "fix" Andromedan fleets mistakes and has for main orders to remain secret and leave no survivors, Alliance soldiers as well as Andromedan units. 8 plasma disc turrets, 4 heavy turbo plasma cannons and 8 heavy plasma turrets complete the ship heavy artillery. Every star-fighter the hive carries is equipped with high performance communication jamming system and hyperjump sensor to follow and destroy any escaping ships before they could "talk".

I 'd suggest to look at the original size for detail.

I'll be at legoworld Zwolle next week. Hope I can meet some people there ^^

My Kraken display for Enblock :D

Yes I had a Merry Christmas.

The word “merry” is from an old Anglo-Saxon word. which literally means "valiant," “illustrious,” “great,” or. “gallant.” Thus, to be merry is not merely to be. mirthful, but to be mighty.

Maybe I should have been a little less "mighty" with the rum.

I hope you all had a "Good" Christmas.
