This is my third entry for the Contest “Your Creation in the World-famous LEGO House”, this time in the Minifigure category. A small scientific vessel with a team of divers and marine biologists is attacked by a Kraken, some of them panic, others try to call for help and some are fascinated by this incredible adventure. ¿Can you spot the baby Kraken?
Legends like the Kraken always fascinates and inspires me, so it was finally time to build a model base on this! I started building the chest, whitout really knowing what I was going to build, and then got the idea to put a ship with the sea monster inside of it. I'm really happy how this model finally turned out! Hope you like it as well! ;)

Another monster. I was inspired to use the seed part as suction cups on tentacles so I put together this little scene of a pirate ship getting torn apart by a Kraken.
And while I'm posting pictures of octopi, here is an evolutionary algortihm's best attempt after 100 generations of using 200 triangles to replicate the image of the octopus from the diorama that I had previous posted (here) before adding all the mixed media elements. I used the algorithm on a number of different pictures, and this is the only one whose result seemed like a potentially decent enough work of abstract art to be posted here.

Below the thunders of the upper deep;
Far far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides; above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumber'd and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge seaworms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.
The kraken is a legendary sea monster of gigantic size and cephalopod-like appearance in Scandinavian folklore. According to the Norse sagas, the kraken dwells off the coasts of Norway and Greenland and terrorizes nearby sailors.
"Release the Kraken!" is a catchphrase based on a memorable quote uttered by Zeus in the 1981 fantasy adventure film The Clash of the Titans.

'The Kraken Awakes' - This has to be my new favourite seascape!
I'm just back from a week in Australia, I was hoping to shoot a whole bunch of shots on the Great Ocean Road but the weather just didn't help out at all. Days of grey skies and horizontal rain. But luckily on my first morning there the sunrise lit up for a few moments.
This is shot at some reefs just outside of Marengo. These rocks were so incredibly slippery , I fell over , twice, getting to the location, along with a good 6-8 ft swell coming in made shooting somewhat tricky!
Captured with a 5d mkII, canon 17-40L, Lee 3 stop hard grad filter. f11, ISO100 and 1 second exposure.
