Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I did promise an Interview I did with my friend Mary with my next photo, however she is not done editing, so it will have to be in the next photo. :)

I had a client request a few weeks ago to do an erotic style photograph in the Helmut Newton style. I was happy to oblige and taking the idea he gave to me of a Mistress of the house and her loyal dog companion always at her side, obedient and loving, I did a variation of the photo Mr. Newton did years ago. If you do not know of his work, here is a link to his foundation and I am sure you can find his work on the internets. :) helmut-newton-foundation.org/en/exhibitions-in-the-founda...

Thank you for allowing me to share my photo with you and have a lovely evening.

xoxo,

Hildda

Introduction

The content of this video:

How God Establishes Man’s Outcome and the Standard by Which He Establishes Man’s Outcome

Most of you know by now how I love 'playing' with light, a never ending beautiful challenge, food for my creative soul, which I so desperately need at the moment...

Each flower or object, most definitely people, seem to have a different 'personality' which I'm trying to capture.

Alstroemeria, the genus named after the Swedish baron Alströmer who brought them back from a trip to South America in 1753.

Also called the Peruvian Lily or Inca Lily, is a South American genus of about 50 species of flowering plants.

The flower, which resembles a miniature lily, is very popular for bouquets and flower arrangements in the commercial cut flower trade.

They have a vase life of about two weeks.

With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)

As you know the "Golden" gate bridge is not literally golden or is golden in color ... which made me think about this concept !

I thought doing a very long exposure and catching the particularly yellow/white reflections of passing cars' headlights might fix that problem ! So I headed to the vista point at night and after a few tries with different durations and white balances I managed to get the Golden Gate to look Golden, as it should have in the first place (!).

It was a particularly cold night and I couldn't feel my hands after this, so I really hope you enjoy this one !

"The more you know, the more you can create. There's no end to imagination in the kitchen."

Julia Child

I believe that Julia Child was referring to the cooking process being involved in imagination. However, often I am easily distracted from the task at hand.

Being in the kitchen with sliced food or small kitchen tools, I see those items as photographic subjects. I think it's good to let one's imagination run wild...within limits, I suppose. :)

Most of you know by now how I love 'playing' with light, a never ending beautiful challenge, food for my creative soul, which I so desperately need at the moment...

I love my 'job', but contrary to what most 'enthusiasts' think, and wish it was their 'job', pro photographic work is often boring and without freedom.

The clients tell you what they want, if they know what they want, which is not always the case, that, or they DO know and just can't bring it across, there's not much space for personal input (not by lack of trying!!!).

This here is my FREEDOM!

::: Nina Nesbitt - I'm Coming Home :::

I’m driving down these old dirt roads

I see the hills up on the right

White grass, artificial ski slope

Im speeding by the east coast train line

I’ve got a friend talking on the phone

He said he’d help me pass the time

I’m where the humour is dry as a bone

but it rains here every night

To see the faces that I know

Been away for way too long,

Where the trees always growin’

Wanna see where time has gone,

So put the kettle on the stove

Leave a light on so they know I’m coming home

I’ve got the wind in my sails

I’ve got the red in my cheeks

Cause I’ve been running from this place

Ever since seventeen

Cobbled streets

Evergreens

Castles and

housing schemes

That whisky taste

Out till late

See that man

He’s shitfaced

To see the faces that I know

Been away for way too long

So put the kettle on the stove

Leave a light on so they know

I’m coming home

Flashback I’m seventeen

in the passenger seat

You roll the windows down

808s and heartbreak plays

Even in this small town

We still had the biggest dreams

I always wanted something more

I always wanted to be seen

Still got that northern blood

I’ve still got a sharp edged tongue

I hold it like a sword

So everyone knows where I’m from

You take for granted all the things

That one day will be gone

I should’ve for held on for dear life

When I was young

I walk through the trees

I see the green

I see the reservoir

I see the nights

I see the lights

I see my family fall apart

I know the leaving

know the feelings

Know the seasons change

Things are different now

But I still feel the same

I’ve been around I’ve seen it all

There’s nowhere else I’d rather go

So won’t you let them know

I’m coming home

I know the school of thought that you should ask a human subject for permission to take their picture, which I agree is nice for some situations, but it doesn't allow you to capture the unselfconscious ballet of human behavior. (Here, admittedly, self-consciousness is on display, but that's the charming point.) We in fact did interact before and after I shot this, and they were aware that I was there shooting them shooting each other.

I...am everyday people: flic.kr/s/aHsmW43zQm

I know my photo is a little bit disturbing to look at, however this weeks topic is provoking. I had two options: the first one was mini Pink Panter holding a stolen diamond so the whole topic could be funny, but I've decided to go with the other serious idea as the crime is an unamusing problem.

In order not to be worried what is buried in my backyard I will tell you - this is my left hand in the substrate (peat moss) for flowers. In my right hand I am holding my camera as no one didn't want to pose for me.

HMM!

As always, thank you so much for your visits, comments and faves!

……I’d just taken these golden flakes of onion out of the Rayburn, they smelt so yummy and I thought ‘I bet they’d look good up close too’! The perfect ingredient for this weeks Macro Mondays Frame Filling theme!! It was Roast Beef this week & I always add a few flakes to the gravy - delicious Sunday Roast. Happy Macro Monday to all on Flickr, each flake is circa 10mm & the whole image about the size of a credit card. Cold beef & Salad out of the garden today. Alan:-) HMM.....

I know, they're not Oreos. They're Belted Galloway cows. But they remind me of Oreo cookies.

This was a fun painting. There is a pasture I drive by on my way into town and sometimes they have some of these cows there.

Last time I saw them I thought, hey!, those cows would be a cool thing to put into a painting. I've always liked the way they look.

So, here they are! I've been working on this painting for a while and I'm calling it done now.

It's 24 x 18 acrylics on stretched canvas, from imagination.

I know there ain't many who actually listen to my musical suggestions however, if you are one of the two, throw some headphones on for this baby: 'We've Got To Try' - The Chemical Brothers.

I know that life may seem a bit strange at times

But through all of the pain confusion you have to remain divine

Do all that you can do to heal and change inside

Know and understand that even

Flowers have to endure the rain at times

Beautiful sunflower, sunflower soul

You haven't been yourself since some time ago

Beautiful sunflower, sunflower soul

You have to learn to let go and forgive

In order for the sunshine to show

I want you to know that things get better with time

But in the meantime you have to stop

Seeing yourself through irrelevant eyes

May you shine like the Light that has

Brought you forth from the heavenly sky's

As you know by now, I love when artists use music to tell a story, weaving the music and the lyrics into a tale filled with emotion and colours. Don McLean is one of those Artists who masterfully achieve this. Vincent is an Ode to the dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh (1853 - 1890). He struggled with mental illness all through his life and died at his own hands at the age of just 37. During his life, he barely sold any of his paintings. Which makes the fact that these days they are worth millions kind of a cruel joke. Don McLean weaved numerous paintings of VanGogh into his Lyrics, which is another nice touch

Vincent - Don McLean

Starry, starry night

Paint your palette blue and gray

Look out on a summer's day

With eyes that know the darkness in my soul

Shadows on the hills

Sketch the trees and the daffodils

Catch the breeze and the winter chills

In colors on the snowy, linen land

Now, I understand what you tried to say to me

And how you suffered for your sanity

And how you tried to set them free

They would not listen, they did not know how

Perhaps they'll listen now

Starry, starry night

Flaming flowers that brightly blaze

Swirling clouds in violet haze

Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue

Colors changing hue

Morning fields of amber grain

Weathered faces lined in pain

Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand

Now, I understand, what you tried to say to me

How you suffered for your sanity

How you tried to set them free

They would not listen, they did not know how

Perhaps they'll listen now

For they could not love you

But still your love was true

And when no hope was left inside

On that starry, starry night

You took your life as lovers often do

But I could have told you, Vincent

This world was never meant for one

As beautiful as you

Starry, starry night

Portraits hung in empty halls

Frameless heads on nameless walls

With eyes that watch the world and can't forget

Like the strangers that you've met

The ragged men in ragged clothes

The silver thorn of bloody rose

Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow

Now, I think I know what you tried to say to me

How you suffered for your sanity

How you tried to set them free

They would not listen, they're not listening still

Perhaps they never will

I know, I know, it's almost exactly like last week's slider....but I liked the result so well I tried it with another photo that wasn't very good and love that I can find a way to use those shots. Hope you have a fantastic day! HSS!

anyone know what these plants are called? See them all over the mediteranean. I think donkeys eat them

"...And I know that you care for me.

So I don't feel alone,

Or the weight of the stone,

Now that I've found somewhere safe

To bury my bone.

And any fool knows a dog needs a home,

A shelter from pigs on the wing." -Pink Floyd

I know Barn Owls screech and it's the Tawny owl that Twit twoo's but it was the only title I could think of LOL

I put up a Barn Owl nesting box in a big Oak tree not 100 yards behind my house. Last year I had success and Mum and Dad fledged three young. These are two young Barn owls (you can tell by the last bit of fluff on the tummy, not taken from behind my house, but not to far away at all.

I went across the field last night and saw a Barn Owl on the front of my box, the first of this year !!!!!!

I very rarely put the 2x extender on the 600mm, but I was super impressed with the quality...... Note to self, do it more often !!

Thanks to everyone that gave their opinion on my Bluebell image (positive or negative) I really appreciated the feedback xx

Did you know that there is a duck that doesn't quack? It's the Muscovy duck, and it's one of the most interesting and unusual members of the waterfowl family.

Muscovy ducks are large ducks, averaging 4.3 kilograms (9 lbs.) with a typical wingspan between 137- 154 centimeters (54- 61 in). Males are generally larger than females. Muscovy ducks have red, fleshy protuberances on the face while their plumage is brownish-black with iridescent green and purple and white wing patches.

Muscovy ducks are social. They have a social hierarchy in which males protect territories that they establish by dominating other males with visual displays. Dominant males maintain territories and mate with females that nest in those territories while other males that live within the territory act as bachelors. This species is non-migratory and active during the day.

Who knows if the Pennsylvania Railroad had the foresight to build a route into Chicago with the most amazing view. 10R begins its journey off former Burlington Northern territory and heads out of town on the PRR, although only a smidge of it remains for mainline action in and around Chicagoland. This guy is bound for Elkhart, very clearly not a PRR town. The ghost of the CWI is over on the left hand side of the frame. The land of infinite diamonds at 21st St Crossing is not far off in the background.

You know how it is, some pictures are easy to take, just point and shoot, but others are a little more challenging.

So, here I was crouching down beneath a cliff, up to my ankles in water, hiding behind boulders to keep out of the way of other Togs, in the pouring rain and just praying the effort would be worthwhile.

The other Togs were showing varying levels of commitment - or stupidity depending on your point of view. Two were sticking with it, one young lad was understandably reluctant to get his new camera out from its protective bin-bag wrapper, and the other two baled out early to go and photograph a toad.

These are a lovely set of falls, especially when the flow is good. Definitely worth a visit, whatever the weather!

You guys know I’m a sucker for animal print.

No surprises there huh.

where the sun is always right and you don't have to shoot RIGHT into it..anyway I think you get the "picture" the elk" prances across the river towards the eagle (previous post)...all I can think of is , could you, would you move over to the other side guys...you know like out of the direct sun??? heheheh...seriously I was so excited with the beauty of it all I didn't really care at the time, its afterwards I'm wondering how can I make it better....suggestions/????

I know it's a sheep and not a bear , but we went to a great gig last night in Bristol, seeing Sea Power , a favourite band. One of Sue's favourite songs was Bear , and I had it as her ring tone so the opening riff reminds me of her texting or calling me. It was a great gig of largely more laidback songs including scores they did for the award winning Game Disco Elysium, so there were lots of younger fans there in costume. It was great for me to go with my three daughters, all in all a wonderful night. So Bear by Sea Power is the title of this beautiful sunrise.

I know Renee was here in Lone Pine recently and I was looking for her footprints 😊

and felt I should wave hi to all my flickr friends.

I am going to be travelling till mid-September hoping to take some nice pictures, so I will be off flickr for a while.

I know I have been remiss getting to everyone, so I wanted to say thank you to for the favs and comments, and hope everyone enjoys there summer.

Oops, I know I said only one for me today but we have just arrived back from weekly grocery shopping and it must have recharged my brain resulting in me remembering I had this lined up for Door Day Thursday. Count the ways or things, grills, bollards, bins, paste-ups, a door that needs TLC, a boarded up small door or window, big window, some ropey things and.... if you look closely, there is even a ghost sign.
