The weather was freezing when I went outside, to shoo away again this frail little kitten-not wanting him to eat the birds! Then one day he would not shoo but slowly went to a bowl of squirrel food and began eating...At that moment I knew he was desperate and kitty food was set out, closer, closer until he came inside...By February, he was seen by my vet, and officially became my boy...A year later, it is birthday time...He is healthy, secure, maybe getting a little pudgy? Well, he has killed most of the house plants, and steals things he considers toys, but he keeps us laughing and we love him dearly...
Everyday I take pics of my 3 kitties with my phone and keep them to myself or send to family but today I wanted to share this very special hug I got from Pandora with my Flickr friends, that are very special to me! ❤️
She actually does this everyday but today I had the iPhone on the other hand and could take the selfies! :)

'Pelle' is my neighbors cat. He is very social. He gave us quite a scare last week, when we drove into the forest in a tractor. When we stopped the engine, he came out from a hiding place underneath the tractor. I then walked home with him. Not carrying him. He followed me like a glad dog, thinking the world was certainly his playground. He did look a little pleased when we got home, and he recognized the more familiar surroundings, like the vegetable garden.
Our 12 year old calico cat, laying down and just watching her human family go about their everyday activities.
remember, i have kitties too? five orange boys? did you think i forgot about them?? lol! i made it a point to take a few pics of elvis and bing this evening. neither is very fond of the camera, but both look so fabulous in the evening light.
You know when you're at the vet's and the technician takes Fluffy out of the office to do whatever it is they need to do and you can hear that Fluffy is not a happy camper and after 10 minutes the technician and Fluffy return to the room and while Fluffy hisses and struggles to get away by any means necessary and the sweating technician smiles serenely and says Fluffy was an angel and tries to hide the bleeding scratches on her hands and arms?
Well... here's an inside secret. Some cats are actually NOT angels at the vet's and so they get wrapped into kitty burritos to even out the odds just slightly. We're bigger but cats come with 18+ claws and razor-sharp, bacteria-covered teeth and they're not afraid to use them. Burritoing a cat means we only have to worry about the razor-sharp, bacteria-covered teeth!
Fun fact: Serafina, the cat pictured above, is actually a male but 16 years ago a little girl wanted a girl kitten and her family obliged and asked us to keep up the ruse and we have ever since.
Apollo update: For the past three days Apollo has shown enough interest in food to eat a few treats and around 10-15 dry kibbles. Not much but a step in the right direction.
