The Poconos region lies within the Greater New York-Newark, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area. The wooded hills and valleys have long been a popular recreation area, accessible within a two-hour drive to millions of metropolitan area residents, with many communities having resort hotels with fishing, hunting, skiing, and other sports facilities.

at the Pennsylvania welcome center on U. S. Route 15 north of Mansfield.

To extend this hike as long as possible, I hang a left onto the North Trail while the Indian Trail continues off to the right.

From left to right, the Delaware Water Gap, the Wind Gap, and the Lehigh Gap, are all visible on the horizon.

I saw this tree sitting in a field behind the gas wells.

Definitely, the shortest fire tower I have come across.

The painted on windows are interesting, but kind of weird. Milton, Pennsylvania at the intersection of Broadway and Arch Street.

Grandview Cottage at Central Oak Heights. C.O.H. is an association of cottage holders who are mainly United Methodists. The grounds are in Kelly Township, Union County, Pennsylvania, just south of West Milton on U.S. Route 15.
