Day 27 of 365.
On my way out to shoot a long-exposure of the night sky I was a bit too hurried.
I had my camera, a tripod, an umbrella, a flash just in case something caught my eye and I needed to light it up...
but I forgot my jacket.
I was a foot outside of my door, so it was really no problem to just grab one quickly.
I swiped my card, then entered my code - no mechanical unlocking sound.
A red light signaled that there had been an error.
I repeated the process again.
Red blinking light.
I stood there, looking at my card, and wondered what the problem was.
I said, "Please, door, let me in."
No luck.
I put all of my gear down and tried three more times to no avail.
I was so frustrated that I wanted to hit the keypad, but I took a picture instead.
After taking a few shots, I tried my card again.
Success.
The keypad just wanted a little lens time, that's all.
