I've been sitting in teleconferences all morning- the last one was listen-only. So, I set my mobile phone down, put this macro lens in front (freestanding on my desk), added some color pieces (lime-green Post-It and a red folder), and got my picture of the day. It's a study in shape, lines and color, mostly. The phone is a Nokia E61i.

I want to experiment with keycodes other than those used by the 20 keys on the existing keypad. The SAA5000 chip is hard to get now, so I programmed an Arduino Micro to read in a character from a serial terminal and use the bottom 5 bits as the keycode. Then to send it as an SAA5000 would.
The 3 pin connector at the left of the board carries +5V power and the data output, it is simply wired in parallel with the standard keypad (the data line is open-collector/drain, fortunately). The transistor next to it is the open-collector driver. The 2 pin connector is the serial input, I couldn't find a MAX232 in the spares box so it's input-only for the moment, the transistor next to the bottom left corner of the Arduino is the RS232 level shifter.
So I picked up a wireless keypad on a screaming deal at Target the other week. When I finally used it the other day, I noticed the Backspace button had such a wonderful abbreviation and immediately knew pictures had to be taken!
