It has display part and keypad part connected by Bluetooth. Display part has touch panel display and strage for video, photo, and audio. Keypad part has speaker and mic for call and communication chip. If you want to call, you take keypad part only.
The keypad doesn't work so well when you leave an essential component of it outside the phone. I know this. I tried it.

Unit completely assembled. No electronics yet 'cos I'm still working on it. The screws give it a nice industrial feel to it.

this is the keypad to open my office door. I also need to remember a separate 5-digit code to get into the breakroom and two more (different) codes to get into the two bathrooms! (that's real pressure), not to mention the six or more computer passwords I use on a daily basis. too many numbers to remember!!! sigh.
Love the illumination of the key pad that I've to press everyday to enter my office... didn't know it's so beautiful till the day when the sky is very very dark.... and viola!!! There is light!

The extra wire sticking out the back is from an old attempt to backlight the keys. Some X-Keys come with a switchable backlight, but not the X-Keys Desktop (this one). I took the base apart, used a nibbler tool to cut out some ridges to make room, and ran blue EL wire back and forth between the keys. It was exactly the right thickness. One more 1/100th of an inch, and it would interfere with the key presses. Unfortunately, it doesn't glow anywhere near brightly enough, and you end up seeing a pale bit of light between the keys instead.
Complete internal view. Keypad PCB is separate, allowing for differing styles of outer case and button positioning. There were at least two different styles on offer when I purchased this one.
