So, yes - this building on the OSU medical campus is operated with the steady support of an army of white cyclopean robots. No joke! Terry took us on a tour (his firm worked on implementing the robot system in the first place). The deal is that any stuff that has to be moved through the building (with the exception of certain carefully-controlled drugs) is loaded onto carts that are designed to be picked up from underneath by these robots. Keypads on the robots allow hospital employees to dispatch the robot to the appropriate place, and then it's off on its own! A whirling laser in the "eye" of the robot bounces off of reflectors placed regularly along the walls and allow the robot to orient itself within the building. All of this is strictly back-of-the-house - patients, under normal circumstances would never encounter a robot, which is probably a good idea....

Have you ever felt like a misfit? Like you didn't fit in? As far back as I can remember I've felt this way and I've never felt better about who I am today. It took a while to get where I am in my mind, but these things take time. Coming into your own. Embracing who and what you are. Nothing is perfect, perfection is flawed. Is there a point to fitting in? Comfort I suppose. Tonight I wanted to do something different, yet creative lighting. Plus I was editing other photos so I didn't have a ton of creative time. I didn't want my face all up in the frame. I like photos that take a different approach, a different perspective. Ones that the subject is never looking into the lens. I snapped my 10* grid into my Bee and turned away from the camera, looking over my shoulder. After a few shots, I thought to use a little fill with my sb900 with a green gel for attitude. And I like the results... Now go. Go make your own way and don't worry about the rules or what anyone thinks... Make someone uncomfortable.
