Florida Keys from 10000 meters out

An old unsued key.

Day 070 - #Photo365 - Key

High key is not really my thing, but it's been annoying me that I missed a challenge, so I gave it a go. I ended up being my own model as well.

Back before Key West was a millionaire's playground, it was a rustic fishing village. The State's first Aquarium, it was built in 1934 as a WPA project as part of an incentive to make Key West a tourist attraction. Wonder if that ever worked ;)

Out and about one evening in Key West. 2011. I liked that raw silk shirt

key pendant that my mom gave me.

i called this the key of hope because since the new year's have come, i hope in the future everything will be alright. i'm starting a job and school which is great.

but the sad news is that my mom's brother is sick really bad. she has to see him. it;s been a tough time for her and her family to go through this.:-( i'll be out for awhile and i'll post a pic of my uncle if they ever have one. i'll post some other photos next time. i feel very sad right now., especially my mom. she's crying right now and i tried to comfort her.

i will pray for him and family and be strong.

ODC Our Daily Challenge: High Key

Here is my work keys.

The content is slowly evolving to give me a handy in my pocket tool kit.

The gerber clutch is my mini multitool. I haven't had it too long, and it replaced my leatherman Skeletool, which I used to clip onto the keys. The clutch is at least as useful as the skeletool for my job, but is a lot smaller.

I also have an old style wave which lives in my bag, and I carry if I know I need something heavier

The Kathmandu torch is handy, but not exciting. One day I hope to find something of similar size, but of a higher class. LED with a push button, small, preferably metal. I haven't tried real hard to find one though.

Reciently the torch has starting being a bit erratic, so i'll be looking for a replacement a bit harder now

A tiny Key Deer fawn explores its home within the National Key Deer Refuge on Big Pine Key, FL.

"The Key deer is the smallest sub-species of the Virginia white-tailed deer. Because the Key

deer population is low and remains under threat of extinction from human interaction, the subspecies is federally listed as endangered. The current population is estimated between 600 and 750."

Little is known about this unusual memorial stone depicting a naked and bound woman. It is the marker stone for Archibald Yates (1911~1966).

During my recent trip to the cemetery, someone had placed Fantasy Fest beads around the memorial.

A Marbled Murrelet gets a running start for takeoff. Although we saw these small seabirds frequently while in Glacier bay, I found them frustratingly difficult to photograph. Pinpointing a tiny object while on a rocking and moving boat is never easy. With these divers, just as I would finally get them into focus they would dip under the water and disappear, or take flight as in this image. Still I liked this one taken on an overcast afternoon. Bumping up the exposure a notch made for an interesting look in high key. July 16, 2016

We're back home but still have warm (in every sense of the word) memories of our stay in Key West, where schooners, seagulls, and jet-skiers join hordes of people along the shore every evening to celebrate the sunset.
