Last High Key..
This image is a product of one of two studio sessions I participated in recently. One night we shot High Key and the next night we shot Low Key. I will post them with alternating styles and models.

This shot was put together by dangling a key from my ceiling using a bit of cotton and then using a 50mm 1.8 lens and a lock shape cut out to create the bokeh while shining a torch on the key. All in camera no photoshop (apart from a slight crop).
Upload for Strobist Sunday High Key / Low Key challenge.
I'm starting to feel more relaxed about the taking SP's.Figured out which is my good side ( LOL highly subjective ) and which is my bad side. Above is my good side, The last image in the first comment is my bad side
SB600 in a small 6"beauty dish with a grid camera right about 10" from my head aiming in front of me so I'm getting illuminated by the fall off at the edge of the beam. Don't know the exact technical settings but the flash was probably on 1/32. Large bit of white board LHS providing some bounce fill

"I had closed the door upon my heart
and wouldn't let anyone in
I had trusted and loved only to be hurt
but that would never happen again
I locked the door and
tossed the key as
hard and as far as I could
My heart was closed for good
Then you came into my life and
made me change my mind
just when I thought that
tiny key was impossible to find
that is when you held out your hand
and proved me wrong
inside your palm was the
Key to My Heart
You had it all along"

Low key macro of filament inside 200W GE incandescent bulb. Spooky!

The black key, flawed but oh so perfect(ly focused).
I took more than 900 shots this morning, it was the second day of fast shutter speed assignment photoshoot aaaand this is the only cleany focused shot I got. One single shot.
It's the jped straight from the camera, I managed to get the exposure exactly as I wanted it this time, using natural light from a window plus some lamps.
"I pronounce you...husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride!"
A lovely Saturday night wedding by the bay in the Florida Keys.

Had the opportunity to make a short trip down here on New Years Eve while my sister and her husband were visiting. Amazingly gorgeous place. Laid back culture, historic buildings, warm tropical breeze, sand and sun. We will definitely be back.
Yes, the blown out sky was intentional. Just a documentary shot.
The small, single-story rectangular house was built in 1906. The house had a side hall with three rooms, one behind the other. This house type is called a “shotgun” house. Basically, one could stand at the door of the house and see through the house and out the other end. Likewise, one could fire a shotgun from the door, straight through the house and out the other end- hence shot gun house. This house type may have developed from a West African architectural tradition. (Note: This house is located in the Key West Historic District. It has been expanded, renovated or updated over the years, however, Key West ordinances and zoning regulations require that original architecture character be maintained.)
