You’d think I could have found a really reflective knife, but no, all ours seem to be matt stainless steel!

(Odocoileus virginianus clavium) The Key deer is an endangered deer that lives only in the Florida Keys. It is a subspecies of the white-tailed deer and is the smallest North American deer. Key deer once ranged throughout the lower Florida Keys, but now lives primarily in one area, called Big Pine Key, and surrounding small islands. Taken on No Name Key just off Big Pine Key

Calm early morning at the Key Bridge this morning. About an hour before sunrise. White balance here is at 6000K as shot ... which really warms the light from Baltimore City.

Un believable news this morning waking up and hearing this bridge has been struck and is no longer standing. We just went over this bridge on Sunday afternoon. Use it quite a lot.

Hopefully those that were on the bridge have not been killed. Prayers for them.

This will have major impact to Baltimore on many levels. Travel, shipping, etc ...

Happy Macro Mondays! HMM !!

They were checking out the drone. Well I was back in the Florida Keys before Christmas for some fun in the sun. After seeing a lot of beautiful snow photos I thought I would share some warm weather

ME:

Hello Benny!

BENNY:

Oh....Hullo Mummy Marian!

ME:

Are you looking for something?

BENNY:

Yes...eh.....I mean no

I thought .... I'm going to clean the drawer of Mummy Marian's desk.

ME:

How nice of you Benny!

Can you also clean up the other 5 drawers for me.

Afterwards you get a sandwich with honey and chocolate milk.

BENNY:

No problem Mummy Marian! I am going to do it

Psssst....Jago....where are you?

76/100x: The 2022 Edition

Since taking the challenge of learning a bit about high key for macro Mondays I think it will be a good idea to learn more about low key as well. I believe this image qualifies as a low key shot. However, it does not count as learning about low key, it was an accident :) The flower was highlighted by the sun and there were deep shadows all around it.

I'm not really sure what I would use low key images for on a regular basis but the high key images will be handy when I have something to sell.

Regardless, I never want to stop learning, even if it is just for the sake of learning.

Have a wonderful day and happy snapping.

Crazy Tuesday

My friend Carlos has been photographing the Keys Deer, a subspecies of White-tailed deer, (Odocoileus virginianus clavium) for the last year or two and was kind enough to share some of his locations and company with me. We just got back from a fun couple of days and were lucky enough to get this stag entering the water. I looked up the term "stag" and found: "A stag is another word for a buck, or a male deer. If you spot a family of deer in the woods, the stag is the one with the largest antlers. There are different terms for male deer, depending on the species, and stag usually describes the largest types of deer." I'd say this guy fits the bill. Take care, Mike

Idea for a still life I had during lockdown when I found some keys I had lost a few years ago...
