Its traditional to say it was colder than it looks at this point - which it was. The biting wind chill was terrible. Then 3 blokes walk past me in lyrca shorts. I give up. I must be doing something wrong.

Proverbs 8:33-35
New International Version
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise;
do not disregard it.
34 Blessed are those who listen to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.
35 For those who find me find life
and receive favor from the Lord.
These guys have a great way to keep cool on a hot day!

Meerkat Keeping Watch As Family Sleeps, Meerkats are amazing and funny little creatures and they are very protective of their families. They always have at least one individual who is keeping watch for any approaching danger. Because of this, there have been many dramatic & heroic occasions when they have saved their entire clan from being eaten by predators. They NEVER let their guard down. They almost never blink !!
- Jinks having a pre-lunch siesta near me working on my computer, - no thoughts of escape from the garden then
Jinks 2002 - 2017
Managed to get in a quick walk before the next band of rain passes through - simple scene before you, the fence to the right and well trodden path of local dog walkers to the left. The woods in the distance and the dappled sky add further interest.
This barn has outlived its usefulness but a grateful farmer keeps up its appearance. There are many things we can't control as we age but there is a certain grace in the old when well kept.
Keeping to a theme of distorted or dissolving architectures that provide a metaphor for the dissolution of rational constructs that no longer serve. My previous image cited the Major Arcana Tarot Card, The Tower, as a psychological metaphor for the coming down of a mental or psychic construct that is deemed as nothing but a hindrance in current circumstances. Here I reference that again but add to that the growing critique of the notion of modern, capitalist, exploitative progress at the expense of all else. The notion of limitless growth and limitless profit is patently ridiculous. Such growth, as I think we'll see in our lifetimes, will simply have to stop. It cannot be sustained. And again, this is not so much about radical changes to the outward world we know, but a radicalization of the thinking that creates it.

Prompt: Hyper realistic photography of a humble 6-year-old boy, with his back turned, with his west highland white terrier, reading a book, sitting under a tree, at sunset, canon eos r6, 8k --ar 5:4 --v 6.1
Living only 300 yards from the Beeston Canal has its benefits and I made this image just before I arrived home from work. It's the first place I go to if the light is looking good and on this occasion the owners of some of the boats had started to anticipate a cold evening. They were right - it was a night with a very sharp frost, but the light prior to sunset was excellent and I spent a good half hour making a variety of compositions.
Obby waiting for me on my side of the bed! These nights get mighty cold so both Bailey and the big orange boy sleep cuddled with me for warmth. Happy warm Caturday….
Leftovers and outtakes, and hopefully the last of the frosty photos for this year, but I can't fool mother nature.
I hope all are having a swell time home alone.
