An early May bank holiday walk into the old town in Harwich and in the docks provided some brilliant scenery in this throwback capture.
A gathering room in an abandoned county home, aka βpoor asylumβ in rural Indiana. This building is the third building that housed the asylum. It opened in 1930 and closed in 2010. The facility was finally put back on the market in February 2020 and was sold just a few weeks later, and it sounds like the new owner wants to restore the facility so it can serve the surrounding communities once again.
This photo is of an old gathering room. Here residents would attend religious services, read, converse, play games or just take in the beautiful views on all sides through the large windows.
Thank you to the real estate agent in charge of this property for allowing me to have a field day capturing it.
The countless hours I have lost submersed in the depths of my mind whilst spinning and flicking this rubiks cube into place is amazing. However I had never once stopped to admire how much a real feat of engineering they are and with some additional contrast in lighting quite interesting to photograph.
After briefly playing around with a ball of string on my 1st attempt it made a return on the second time as well. The fibres of the string intrigue me and provide an interesting texture to capture.
One of the worlds most visited icons was rejected by various Parisian communities sparking protests before the Eiffel Tower was constructed in the 1880βs. This just shows the results of perseverance and to never giving up on your dreams and that nothing is impossible if you stay focused on your goal. Keep dreaming and you too can change the world.
