Caught in a net
of shadows
on a river
of blue turbulence
in a darkening forest
of shifting light
we have forgotten
how morning fog
slowly receded
to reveal broad fields
green with new life
and a flock of crows
passing overhead
and glistening jewels
that dripped
from our paddles
as we held them
over the water
but now we see
with less clarity
as we drift
as we drift
seeking
we know
not
what

I think my friend here is in a meditative state... mesmorized by the clear blue-green waters of Lake Huron. What a glorious day!
In order to explore further in the near future, I need to be prepared well for the worst scenario. When running into over meters high waves, it is quit possible kayak flipping over. The roll back is the most efficient way to rescue. This is self-training for different kayak rolls
Kayaking at Tjärnö in Bohuslän, Sweden. This was during a field-stay at Tjärnö marine biological laboratory at the Swedish west-coast, the stay was a part of a course in marine biology. I didn't have my eos 30D back then, but used a compact digital camera that i had borrowed from my dad.
Taken from Sparks Lake, OR. by diaduck. I built the wooden kayak from a kit by Pygmy Kayak. South Sister is a 10,358 ft volcanic peak that is part of the Three Sisters mountains in the Cascade Range. Sparks Lake at 5433 ft is a natural body of water near the crest of the central Cascade Range.. The lake is about 26 miles west-southwest of Bend, Oregon along the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway in Deschutes National Forest.
