We are well taken care of on this trip. When the kayaking is done, we all hop out of our kayaks onto a zodiac and the kayaks are towed back to the boat.

So cool kayaking the mangroves. Unfortunately it was low tide, so that made it a little rough going at times.
That's the Truckee Marsh in South Lake Tahoe, you can rent kayaks in the Tahoe Keys marina or on El Dorado Beach to get to it. And now is the time to get to it, during drought years you see nothing of the marsh from the kayak because the water levels in the channels are so low all you see is the dirt walls of the channel... but right now the marsh is full of water and you can see everything and go everywhere. Fabulous place for a few hours of kayaking!

June21, 2009: I went kayaking wiht Julie Fee, Ryan, Morgan, Judy Ranelli, and Jenny on the Coosa River. We had a great time. At this point I had just climbed up on the rock island to get a photo of Jules and Ryan going through a rapid. Ryan flipped over, was unhurt, but did enjoy a swim. Here is the flip in action
