I think I was standing on a section about a quarter of the way up the 108 stairs. I was the first one up to the top, and not even out of breath! LOL! :) I love this perspective, though...it just came out very cool! :) Taken inside the Jupiter Lighthouse.

Jupiter, Florida

(I'm going from memory here as I live in Colorado), but the lighthouse was built before the Civil War to protect ships from striking the reefs just off shore. It was also used in World War II to look for German U-Boats. More information can be found at:

One of the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen at the Jupiter Lighthouse with amazing colors. Three exposure HDR image processed in Photomatix Pro HDR software.

The Jupiter Inlet Light is located in Jupiter, Florida, on the north side of the Jupiter Inlet. The site for the lighthouse was chosen in 1853. It is located between Cape Canaveral Light and Hillsboro Inlet Light.

"What are we?

A fleeting, intricate presence riding a tiny speck of water and rock, out here in the dark, sailing the ship of wonder ever more deeply into the void from which we came, that is our true home and mysterious destination."

I had planned a trip to our FL. east coast for some low tide coastal rocks shooting with Claudia (fraggle Red). this past weekend.

Having arrived at 5am and a little spare time, I thought I would check out this LH. When I went over the high bridge the image I saw of this LH was awsome...well lit with side lighting, this LH's reflection in the water was something I had to shoot at night.

This of course is not that shot, but I also wanted to do a sunset and having found no suitable location with Claudia in tow, I went back later that day to find this location at an apartment complex. Not the best sunset becasue of the storms, but a lot closer than my initial choices.
