Call me crazy or lunatic or whatever... I was going on my way to drink a fresh beer talking on the cellphone and suddenly I noticed some music in the air, that boat shaking at the rhythm of the music... "What is happening here?" Pure coincidence!

On display outside Barnard Castle Morrisons supermarket on the 21st June 2019 is 1948 Jowett Bradford 10cwt van FKW 44.
Vehicle History
FKW 44 was built in 1948 by Fleet Garage, Bradford for the Jowett Factory in Idle, Bradford. In 1954 it was sold to International Harvester who manufactured tractors in Idle, Bradford. In the early 1980’s the factory was demolished and a Morrisons Supermarket constructed on the site. During the work a dilapidated FKW 44 was discovered and donated to Morrisons who have restored it and painted it in a yellow Morrisons livery. FKW 44 is based at Morrisons Head Office in Bradford just two miles from where it was built.
The first time I came across a modern view of a Health and Safety compliant semaphore signal was at Fiskerton in 2008. Network Rail had recently renewed a “standard 1950’s” tubular steel Fiskerton Junction Down Home (FJ21)/Fiskerton Station Down Distant (FS6) signal (see first comment) with this “elegant” modern equivalent, 7th June 2008.
This month we featuring a beautiful outdoor fireplace. The natural stone used here is Sequatchie Variegated Strip Rubble, with irregular shaped Flagstone Cap. This makes a perfect setting for outdoor gatherings on cool nights.

A passing storm moves over the northern ridgeline above June Lake Loop, casting varied light on the aspens below and leaving a dusting of snow on the surrounding peaks.
Today I got this outfit at Japonica and the designer is by Frangipani Garden. Love this summer Kimono when i went exploring today.
British Railways Standard class 4MT 2-6-4T 80080 being overhauled at the West Shed at Swanwick, Midland Railway Centre, 21st June 2018.
Locomotive History
The British Railways Standard class 4MT 2-6-4T was based on the London Midland and Scottish Railway Fairburn class 4, 2-6-4T, which in turn had a lineage back to the London Midland and Scottish Railway Fowler design of 1927. The principal modifications to the Fairburn design involved the reduction in size to enable them to fit into the L1 loading gauge. One hundred and fifty five locomotives were built split between Brighton works (one hundred and fifteen), Derby works (fifteen) and Doncaster works (ten). 80080 was built at Brighton works and entered traffic in March 1954, initially allocated to Plaistow MPD for commuter services on the London Tilbury and Southend line. In 1962 when this line became electrified it was transferred to Croes Newydd (Wrexham) and remained there until July 1965 when 80080 was withdrawn from traffic By January 1966 it had been moved to Woodham Brothers yard in Barry, South Wales where it remained for the next fourteen years succumbing to the ravages weather, metal thieves, and later preservationists removing parts. When the locomotive was purchased in the autumn of 1980 all non ferrous and motion parts were missing and it was no more than a skeletal hulk. Restoration to working order took seven years and was completed in October 1987 at the Midland Railway Centre.
My entry for the LOM June UC. Just something quick. I especially love the columns and stone arbor. I used Greek and Roman architecture for this build.
C&C Appreciated!
We got a hot tip about the White-eyed Vireo. (Top row photo, next to the King of Snakes.) Drive here, park there, walk a block or two.... Ca-Ching! New bird! And for the brief time it commanded the limelight, we were all mesmerized.
A smallish clot of polite birders gathered off the path. Everyone watching. Vigilantly listening and waiting. We compare equipment and notes. Who has seen what and where they saw it. We are envious of the Orange County birders. We meet Gabriel, a Santa Monica College professor and a Herpetologist. His wife jogs by us with their new baby in a stroller. I like this Gabriel and a smidgen of hope swells in my heart. This new baby will grow up to be a gifted scientist.

We all get a little punchy after explaining to person after person what we are looking for. People walk by with whatever the current version of a boom box is called. Loud-music-to-go because the world without continuous or constant noise is obviously unbearable.
We take turns ignoring people. We size up the curious folk before we talk. Carrying binoculars or a camera gets you in. Clownish loudly patterned yoga wear merits a dumb answer. "We are watching squirrels." Gabriel snorts but I know I could have been kinder. I make myself a promise to be less mean. Maybe Gabriel's child will develop a cure for meanness.
W9 and Jerry got the Chat as a life bird at Malibu Creek State Park. We were on the lookout for the chat after using the ebird Explore the Hot Spot tool. He put on a song and dance show for us. Thrilling, but be quick if you want a photo.
And have a gander at the red crustacean deal in the second row. How can you scream and focus a camera at the same time??? Asking for a friend.
The green landscape we experienced a few months ago is rapidly fading. Birds have disappeared. Migration and nesting. They have left or they're hiding.
Slowly my bird list is growing.
The original lists were probably carved in stone and represented longer periods of time. They contained things like "Get more clay. Make better oven." David Viscot
Unlike most of the boats moored in the Penryn River this one, firmly on the mud looks like it could do with a bit of tender loving care on its weed encrusted hull, 28th June 2015.
