Airedale recently joined other representatives from the Yorkshire region at an event hosted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, The Rt Hon George Osborne MP. The purpose of the evening was to listen to the views and opinions of, and allow a forum for discussion between, some of the leading manufacturing and commercial organisations in the region following on from the launch of the Chancellor’s “Power House of the North” initiative.

Joined by the Chief Advisor of SoDel Concepts Alan Levin, Department of Correction leaders, members of the BWCI Garden Club, and others, Governor Markell will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the recently constructed BWCI greenhouse. Construction for the greenhouse was supported through funding raised by attendees at the May, 2015 ‘Breaking Bread Behind Bars’ event at the prison when students in the BWCI culinary program worked alongside chefs from the Delaware restaurant group SoDel Concepts to prepare a four-course meal. The new greenhouse will enhance the culinary and horticulture program at BWCI and inmate members of the prison’s Garden Club will share their stories of how this new facility is supporting their efforts to learn new skills during their incarceration.

Please join us for a special conversation between renowned Midwest sculptor Richard Hunt and equally venerable Oregon sculptor Lee Kelly.
The Smithsonian says of the much-honored Chicago-based Hunt, "For more than three decades Richard Hunt's status as the foremost African-American abstract sculptor and artist of public sculpture has remained unchallenged. Executed in welded and cast steel, aluminum, copper, and bronze, Hunt's abstract creations make frequent references to plant, human, and animal forms."
Lee Kelly is among PNCA's most prolific and honored alumni who attended the college when it was known as the Museum Art School. Known for his monumental public art works (his "Memory '99" is sited at the front entrance of PNCA's new campus flagship) Kelly has work in numerous public collections, universities, and private sites and collections throughout the West.
Both Hunt and Kelly interacted with architect, Pietro Belluschi, and this public conversation between these two revered artists will be moderated by PNCA Board Member Tony Belluschi and his wife Marti.
