A brand new image for you all and one of my favourite subjects to shoot. Iceland has some absolutely gorgeous wooden churches in the most picturesque places and this one at Buðir is one of the most iconic in Iceland (along with Myrdal Church at Vik).
Set on a lava field in Staðarsveit, the volcano of Snæfellsjökull makes a wonderful backdrop (seen in other photos of mine but behind me in this one).
The Buðir black church is one of 3 black churches in Iceland and they are black because the exterior wood is painted with pitch, the same material you see on boat hulls. The reason for this is to protect it from the harsh Icelandic winters. This is a method that has worked well for over 100 years as the date stamp of the church on the cross above the door reads '1847'.

Come join us tomorrow for our opening event in honor of artist Tresore Prada Hawkins! She will have many new, unposted works she created for the show on display along with several others. All will focus on a magical, fantasy theme along with Autumn :)
Tresore has always enjoyed anything to do with being creative in real life and Second Life. In her own words,
"I would like to touch the heart of people through my impression, thoughts, feelings , and I hope my images make you smile and dream a little".
Tresore has the special ability to create these moods, feelings and emotions in others with the time and thought she puts into each picture. She takes the time she needs to perfect the story, mood and feeling she is trying to portray by choosing the perfect pose, colors, clothing and scene. Then she puts it all together at the location within world she thinks will help achieve this goal. Her use of rich, beautiful color, unique texturing and overall composition is truly stunning and inspirational. Come dream with us and enjoy the great music of DJ Feather while doing so!

MISS SL ♛ Romania tells us, "The Zodiac sign i have chosen for this competition is Aquarius. In Latin, it translates to 'Water Bearer,' and it is the eleventh astrological sign in Western Astrology. The reason I have chosen this sign is when researching, I found that I can relate to many of its qualities, even though I myself am a Gemini. My styling is partially inspired by the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen. Her designs are a form of futuristic Avant Garde, made possible by intelligent use of fabrics and 3D printing for some unique styles. I have used the element of water as a base for my outfit, with the water flowing around my skirt. And of course, what water bearer would be caught without something to carry the water in."
MISS SL ♛ Romania is wearing a bodysuit, skirt, sleeves, and leg chains from Ersh. She adds shoes from KC Couture, jewelry from Orsini and Michan, and makeup from both Goreglam and Identity Faces.
Finally, she utilizes water around her skirt, a headpiece, and nails that she has created herself to help complete her ensemble.

The birds seem to have taken to perching on an old metal post just off the jetty. This makes it relatively easy to catch them in flight

Jan 2007 I joined second life. I've done some amazing things, seen amazing things and met some amazing people. It's been 10 years but nothing compares to what I've found in Andro. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would have such a caring, sweet handsome man who loves me for who I am. I can't begin to express how he's changed my world. It's been almost a year since we begun our plans to make our second life love official. Set backs and life has thrown us off track a few times. But that is all about to change. We will finally be able to leave the confines of second life, skype and phone calls. Friday will be the day we finally get to share one spot together and I couldn't be more excited to finally take this huge step. My only hope is that I can fulfill all of your dreams hopes and fantasies. You've made my last year and 3 months the best I could have imagined it to be. I look forward to waking up next to you each morning and seeing that handsome face looking back at me. Thank you everyone for all of your kind words. You have filled our hearts with so much joy. This is not a Goodbye to you all, but simply as step forward in our lives. We won't be around as much as we are, but we plan to take photos of course and visit our family and friends. We will be back as soon as we get settled and have some time to ourselves. This will definitely be an adjustment period for the both of us. Thank you everyone, we love an adore you all and wish you the best second life and real life! May you all find that special someone that warms your heart. ♥ See you soon pumpkin! ♥
