Topsail Island, NC is one of our favorite vacation spots. This was taken during our June 2008 vacation and I would like to be here about now.
This is known as the Point, and is the at the south end of Topsail Island where Banks Channel, Topsail Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean join. The island is beautiful and not overcrowded like most beaches.

I joined a group of talented local photographers for a day at White Canyon earlier this year, during the brief wildflower season. Shortly after I arrived, an eastbound CP grain empty announced its imminent arrival, and the group scattered around the hillside, having pre-scouted their next composition of choice. Nothing jumped out at me as a compelling angle, but one of the guys pointed out a natural 'frame' shooting through a fallen fire damaged tree. This isn't a typical shot for me, but I'm quite pleased with the result, and the guidance to get a shot outside my norm.
The setting sun gently presses an aged barn and accompanying shed, illuminating a companionship that began many years ago. Together they have born the burdens filling a busy farm life. Few things in life compare to the beauty of an old couple still happily married and enjoying the shared memories of lives well lived.

Caldas da Rainha (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈkaɫdɐʒ ðɐ ʁɐˈiɲɐ]) is a medium-sized city in western central Portugal in the historical province of Estremadura and the district of Leiria. The city serves as the seat of the larger municipality of the same name and of the Comunidade Intermunicipal do Oeste (OesteCIM, Intermunicipal Community of the West). At the 2011 census, the municipality had a population of 51,729 in an area of 255.69 square kilometres (98.72 sq mi), with 27,378 residing in the city. Although the city itself lies about 10.5 kilometres (6.5 mi) inland, three of the municipality's civil parishes lie on the Atlantic Ocean. Caldas da Rainha is best known for its sulphurous hot springs and ceramicpottery.
The settlement was founded in the 15th century by Queen Leonor (Rainha Dona Leonor), who established a hospital and a church at the site of some therapeutic hot springs. The Hospital Termal Rainha D. Leonor (Queen Leonor Spring Water Hospital, or Thermal Hospital) is the oldest purpose-built institution of its kind in the world, with five centuries of history. The city's name, often shortened to simply "Caldas", can be translated as "Queen's Hot Springs", "Queen's Spa", or "Queen's Baths".
Caldas da Rainha is home to many cultural institutions. The city's nine museums cover art, history, and cycling. Cultural and sports venues include Centro Cultural e de Congressos (CCC, Cultural and Conference Centre), a centre for performing arts, exhibitions, and conferences; Expoeste – Centro de Exposições do Oeste (Exhibition Centre of the West), which hosts exhibitions and festivals; a bullring; several football (soccer) pitches; and a multi-sport municipal complex. Caldas hosts six professional and higher-educational institutions, including a major arts and design school and a school devoted to ceramics. In 2014 Caldas da Rainha had the best public secondary school in Portugal based on national test scores.

The vast majority of the trains used the track no. 1, opposite for the direction they were running, because the track no. 2 (on the left) was in such bad condition, the max speed allowed there was 10 kmph. Me and my clients visited the almighty Kirkjufell mountain and waterfalls mid-afternoon yesterday to capture the truly epic views at sunset.
Although the fiery colours of a burning sunset failed to show, what we was treated to instead was a gorgeous muted scene of blues, blacks and blue whites.
This has to be one of the most iconic scenes in Iceland yet I never tire of photographing it

I love my porch...my favorite place to have coffee and watch my little critter friends! (and take photos). Just so relaxing. I can even enjoy it when it's raining...(it has a roof) which is a good thing this summer, with all the rain we've had. Today, however, is sunny and lovely. Have a blessed Sunday.
A group of Lesser Whistling ducks (Dendrocygna javanica) was landing down in a resting ground to join the rest of members. Their sweet whistling calls all around was very enjoyable in the field. All actions were well anticipated and hence I managed to frame successfully, their symmetrical landing pattern. Pics was taken from Santragachi, West Bengal, India.

I joined a group off of Facebook called 52Frames and each week of the year you have a challenge to take a photo with a certain subject. This week (my second!) was to take a photo of something interesting from where I live. Well, Old Rag is certainly the most famous and interesting thing! You can also choose to take on a second challenge and the one from this week was to shoot your subject at sunrise. So... Old Rag at sunrise today! Hardest thing about that challenge was actually getting up that early. LOL This was taken from an upstairs bedroom. Have a fantastic day everyone.
