Looking down towards the High Street in Stamford, Lincolnshire, England.
Joined a Flickr Photo walk Saturday afternoon at the Landmark Center in downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota.
In the basement there are a few displays of old furniture. I liked this couch being framed by the two windows, and the cool-and-warm light.
Crowds flood Dongdaemun, Seoul’s (and Korea’s) largest market, made up of open-air and indoor sections, spreading along Cheonggyecheon stream, where one can find seemingly EVERYTHING. The market is named after the ornamental gate at its eastern entrance, which just means great (dae) east (dong) gate (mun).

Shot that might have been taken in one of those beautiful mosques of Iran, however true is that it was taken in Kuwait. We went for photoshoot with my friend Mohammad and Noor for blue hour photos, but got there little earlier to be able to capture some of its great interior. It was shortly after sunset with still enough light outside. You can however see that the lights at the mosque were on and created nice additional element in the photo.
Abstract decoration of the surface is an important factor in every work of Islamic art and architecture, whether large or small. Curving and often interlaced lines, of which the arabesque is a typical example, and the use of brilliant colors characterize almost all of the finest productions, which are of greatly varied styles. Islamic art eschews the realistic representation of human beings and animals, and its floral designs are extremely distant from their original models. While the prohibition against depicting living forms is not contained in the Qur'an, it is widely thought that the non-representational character of Islamic ornament has its source in the traditional theological prohibition against imitating God's works.

Europe - Portugal - Região Norte - North Region - Porto - Oporto - Capela do Senhor da Pedra - Lord of the Rock - Iconic hexagonal design chapel built on top of rock situated right on shoreline of Atlantic ocean
This chapel has been on my list for some time and it didnt disappoint, well at least at the end. I drove to this location directly from the Lisbon airport in possibly worse weather I have experienced in Portugal during various trips. First 2 days were complete write off, in terms of photography for the apocalyptic rain that was falling on this wonderful country. However the 3rd day, the sky opened up and I was rewarded with one of the most spectacular sunset in a very long time. I should not forget to mention that the wonderful sneaky Atlantic Ocean washed me over completely 2x . There is nothing more fun to do, than standing completely wet in rather chilly December day. Things we do for photography !

Europe - Slovenia - Slovenija - Julian Alps - Triglavski National Park - Bohinj Lake - Bohinjsko jezero - Largest glacial lake in Slovenia - Spectacular summer morning misty sunrise
This was one of those special moments I really hoped to experience. Wonderful sea of fog in the lake valley and dramatic sunrise above that.
Timelapse movies had become my new way of capturing my travels besides regular photography and this particular moment shows why. Mist might look like something rather static, but if you speed the time up, it dances around. See for yourself at :

Artists from around the world are invited to submit a postcard-sized piece
of original artwork to us. There will be no jury, no fees and no return of
artwork –

All received postcards will be viewed during some exhibitions, starting from
tMay 2010. All postcards will be auctioned off in a silent
auction. All the proceeds will be donated to Haiti via Unicef.
The theme is DOODLING - Let Your Imagination Run Wild.
Postcards must be received before May 15, 2010 to be include in the first
show and first auction that will take place during the Doodle Day organized
by the Cultural Association Genius Loci in Matera (Italy) on the 22 of May.
Postcards received after that date will be included in shows and auctions in
different galleries. (Matera, Bari…) from May 2010 to June 2010
Postcards submitted must be an original drawing, painting, collage, mixed
media piece, poetry, or short story created by you and must fit on a
standard postcard dimensions. (max cm 13x18)
Please no nudity, overly religious artwork, racist, or pornographic art. The
shows will be viewed by the general public which will include children.
Please include on the back of your work: - Your name, full mailing address,
title of artwork, medium and email address, (website if you have one).

Prima mostra presso il Primo Circolo Didattico Minozzi di Matera in
concomitanza con la Giornata dello Scarabocchio che si terrà il 22 Maggio 2010. Le mostre che seguiranno
saranno organizzate in gallerie di arte con calendario che sarà reso noto in
seguito.
Durante le mostre le cartoline saranno messe all’asta, tramite asta
silenziosa ed il ricavato sarà donato all’Unicef per Haiti.
Le cartoline dovranno pervenire entro il 15 maggio 2010 per poter
partecipare alla prima asta benefica.
Sarà possibile inviare anche successivamente altre cartoline che potranno
partecipare alle successive aste. Le cartoline saranno aggiudicate al
miglior offerente e consegnate a Giugno 2010, a
chiusura dell’evento.
Il supporto e la tecnica sono liberi.
Misure: max 13x18
Non si accetteranno lavori con nudità, o inneggianti alla violenza ed al
razzismo.
La mostra sarà frequentata da un pubblico vasto che comprende anche bambini.

Bhaktapur, situated at an altitude of 1401 meters, is a home of medieval art and architecture. The urban city covers an area of 4 square miles. Shaped like a conch shell, Bhaktapur means “the city of devotees”. Pottery and weaving are its traditional industries. The city lies about 14 kilometers east of Kathmandu and can be reached by public transport and by trolly buses. The major sightseeing places in Bhaktapur includes Durbar Square. The main square of the city contains innumerable temples and other architectural showpieces like: the Lion Gate, a statue of King Bhupatindra Malla, a picture Gallery, the Golden Gate, the palace of 55 Windows, the Batsala Temple, the Bell of Barking Dogs, and a replica of Pashupatinath Temple.
