So what do you do when you're walking through a Denver bookstore and you see one of your creative idols? You take his picture, of course.
Me: Mr. Cleese, it's a great pleasure to meet you ...
John: Oh, please. I've been such a mean person for 71 years ...
Me. Well, then you're the most magnificent mean bastard there has ever been.
John: Well, yes. I like that!

Classic British comedy troupe Monty Python returned to the stage one “last” time (or ten, as the case may be) for a final farewell to the surreal comedy gold sketches first made famous in the 1970’s and 80’s.
The remaining original line-up of John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam all returned for the series of shows at East London’s O2 Arena playing out famous sketches, including Dead Parrot, The Lumberjack Song, Spam and The Spanish Inquisition as well as famous songs including show closer Always Look on the Bright Side if Life.
While a familiarity with the classic material would have heightened the show to an unparalleled level, a good time was had by all as classic original sketches and animations were shown on screen in-between the live acts.
The Monty Python boys were joined on stage by “the seventh Python” and former Miss California Carol Cleveland. While various special guests will join the show over it’s run, tonight’s guest was Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding.

And now on to scene 24. A smashing scene with some lovely acting, in which Arthur (Graham Chapman) discovers a vital clue, and in which there aren't any swallows, though I think you can hear a starling...
In the common room of our suite, we tacked up a couple of posters. From left to right, we have: Inception (Sarah's poster, she loves that movie. I can't wait to see it once it comes out on DVD.), the Ministry of Silly Walk (It's mine. I'm a HUGE Monty Python fan. As in, I can quote every episode of Flying Circus and reference it in just about any conversation, have read Michael Palin's autobiography, and know completely random Python trivia. *nerd alert*), David Beckham (Sarah and I are forming a soccer intramural team and the rest of the suite loves the British soccer player as well. He's hot...and talented!), and on the bottom is New York's Time Square beautifully lit at night (My poster; I've been there before and it was gorgeous at night.) We have a geek suite, but that's okay. We get along great and have a blast together. We're living the suite life. ;)

I'm staying with my brother's family for a few days. My niece gave up her room for me to sleep in. This is to explain the doll with the coloured hair on the edge of the stool.
Book I'm currently finishing is this John Cleese autobiography, given to me by my teenage son for Christmas. It is first and foremost "not" a book of jokes, or a laugh a minute.
Rather than being one continuous laugh, it is more like the story of John Cleese, the person and some people he met and things he did. In fact when introducing one sketch and justifying its inclusion on the grounds that he likes it, he writes that those who bought this book expecting a joke a minute would be disappointed and it was his ***** book and he'd write what he wanted.
However one of my favourite quotes (and I've even dog eared the page and I *never* do that to books) is funny. He has funded research into the intelligence of cats and the report came back, "Cats are very intelligent at all the things that cats need to be intelligent at." I definitely think this applies to people. In 2016, there was a story here in Australia, about a woman who was going to sail unaided to the South Pole. On the journey she would face waves five storeys high .... yep ... five stories high.
■ And she hates the cold and gets sea sick. 😩
It's the cat intelligence story. If there are nine intelligences, as has been proposed, then she has a different one from mine. But I hope she has the one she needs.
I think John Cleese would love it ... and the doll. 👠
