Time Riders 25/05/2018 13h57

One of my favorite 'dark rides' of this park is this simulator attraction located in the area Streets of New York; Time Riders. The pre show is very well themed to get into the mood of the experiment of inventor Horace Garrison to travel back in time.

Time Riders

Time Rider (previously Batman Adventure) is a simulator in the German theme park Movie Park Germany and is in the theme area Streets of New York.

The attraction opened in 2005 consists of three parts. Two pre-shows and a main show. The main show is a ride in a simulator, in which the illusion is created that visitors sit in a time machine and fly among other dinosaurs.

In total there are eight simulators within the attraction. There is room for up to twenty people per simulator. This theoretically means a capacity of 970 persons per hour.

The story behind this attraction is that inventor Horace Garrison invented a time machine and wants to test it on his visitors. This is what the inventor tells the audience. Horaace Garrison is performed by the actor John Cleese.

Classic British comedy troupe Monty Python returned to the stage one “last” time (or ten, as the case may be) for a final farewell to the surreal comedy gold sketches first made famous in the 1970’s and 80’s.

The remaining original line-up of John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam all returned for the series of shows at East London’s O2 Arena playing out famous sketches, including Dead Parrot, The Lumberjack Song, Spam and The Spanish Inquisition as well as famous songs including show closer Always Look on the Bright Side if Life.

While a familiarity with the classic material would have heightened the show to an unparalleled level, a good time was had by all as classic original sketches and animations were shown on screen in-between the live acts.

The Monty Python boys were joined on stage by “the seventh Python” and former Miss California Carol Cleveland. While various special guests will join the show over it’s run, tonight’s guest was Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding.

OOPS: From a 2014 interview:

What is the most irritating thing people do when they meet you?

Cleese: “They walk up to me in the street and say, ‘Can I have a photograph with you’? I say, ‘You mean, to commemorate the fact we met five seconds ago?’ I think it’s a generational thing. For me, you took a photograph with someone because you’d had dinner together, or been to a party, or a football match. There was some relationship implied by a photograph. And there is no relationship as far as I’m concerned. When people ask me for autographs, that’s fine, if they want a picture of me, that’s fine. But the whole selfie culture – which I do think is poison, I think it’s literally poisonous. I don’t understand the celebrity culture. I don’t understand why people would use Facebook. It’s hard to write for a generation that’s obsessed by Facebook when you have no idea why.”

As the interview wraps, Cleese gathers up his coat. A man walks over from across the bar. “Could I get a picture with you?” he asks. “I’m sorry, I don’t do that,” Cleese replies with a contrite smile. “Sorry.”

Before takeing this shot, I hated my camera. I was sick from it, it is too old & it always keep disappointing me with its poor quality. I stopped useing it for a while but it is my only photography tool, so like it or not i must use it to photograph. This time I gave this shot a great time to play with & I realize that giveing the art enough time will give you a creative work no matter what kind of tools you have!

Fawlty Towers is a BBC television sitcom that was first broadcast on BBC2 in 1975 and 1979. Twelve episodes were made (two series, each of six episodes). The show was written by John Cleese and his then-wife Connie Booth, both of whom also starred in the show.

The series is set in Fawlty Towers, a fictional hotel in the seaside town of Torquay, on the "English Riviera". The plots centre around tense, rude and put-upon owner Basil Fawlty (Cleese), his bossy wife Sybil (Prunella Scales), a comparatively normal chambermaid Polly (Booth), and hapless Spanish waiter Manuel (Andrew Sachs), showing their attempts to run the hotel amidst farcical situations and an array of demanding and eccentric guests.

An American Tail: Fievel Goes West is an 1991 American animated film from Universal City Studios and Amblination. This is definitely an animated sequel film right after an 1986 Don Bluth film, An American Tail. If you like Don Bluth animated films, you'll like An American Tail: Fievel Goes West. This is perfect for the whole family especially with young and old alike.

From the back cover:

Presented by Steven Spielberg, this delightful animated feature continues the adventures of Fievel, the brave young mouse who captured the hearts and imagination of audiences in An American Tail.

The Mousekewitz family discovers the streets of America are not all paved with cheese, and living in a mouse tenement does not offer the life they hoped for. Young Tanya dreams of becoming a famous singer, and Fievel wants to become a tough law-dog like his hero Wylie Burp.

Lured out west by the crafty entrepreneur Cat R. Waul, Fievel discovers the evil gentleman's true plans to turn the settlers into mouse-burgers. Enlisting the aid of his cat friend Tiger, the two team up with the legendary Wylie Burp to stop the feline gang's dastardly plot.

Thrills and laughs come together in this heartwarming family film featuring the voices of James Stewart, John Cleese, Dom DeLuise, Amy Irving and an engaging original score including the unforgettable "Dreams to Dream" sung by Linda Ronstadt.
