The VCS-Grouse was an attempt by the United Republic of Europe (URE) at making a cheap yet effective ground assault VCS. However, due to its slow movement, weak armor, and outdated sensor and comms systems, it ended up being a failure. The design was not a complete loss, however, as the URE outfitted many Grouse systems with special back-mounted propulsion systems which made them capable of limited space and atmospheric flight. The Grouse worked surprisingly well in cooperation with the backpack, and they now make up the majority of the URE's orbital defense force.
Another mech, from the same fictional universe as the Cougar. (Coming up with backstories for these things is kinda hard btw) It's based around a similar frame as the Cougar, but with a few bits inspired by FateHeart and Messymaru. I'm pretty happy with how the jetpack turned out as well, especially the arm strength enhancers.

finally it is time to present to you my 4th creation of the disney+ series #themandalorian. This vignette took a little bit more of time because my freetime Was limited in the last days, but I'm proudly finished this one. Take a look at the backstory of that scene:

Shard's starship commences an aerial bombardment of the settlement, destroying and damaging numerous buildings. The civilians run in panic. A white protocol droid orders the people of Nevarro to evacuate to the lava flats. Karga sends a distress message to Captain Carson Teva, requesting help from the New Republic. Captain Teva travels on his X-wing starfighter with his R7 astromech droid to the planet hosting the Mandalorian covert. Djarin agrees that Teva is right and that he has to help Karga. Kryze reminds him that he can't do it alone.Outside, Kryze briefs the Mandalorians about her Kom'rk-class fighter, which she intends to use to drop them into Nevarro City. She tells them that they needed to operate as a tight military unit. Kryze and Djarin will reinforce them from above. She hopes to use the element of surprise to defeat an enemy that outnumbers them.
Meanwhile in Nevarro City, the pirates are pillaging the city and terrorising a bartender and the local Kowakian monkey-lizards. Several of them see Djarin's N-1 starfighter flying overhead. With the Corsair distracted, Kryze flies her Gauntlet fighter over the city, allowing the Mandalorians to drop down to the surface. The first team descends into the city with their jetpacks. Several Anzellan mechanics watch as the Mandalorian clan members ambush several, kill and capture several pirates. [...]

Recently, Blacktron has been experimenting with armor technology. The Blacktron Jetpack Hardsuit was a success, and is now used in almost all outer space missions.

"Boys, we have a rendezvous with a Separatist shuttle in 10 minutes top," Havoc announced. The blast doors opened to Blitz Squad's barracks; Havoc hastily made his way in.
"A manifest and schedule dossier intercepted by our comms team lists a POI that will be on board our target." Havoc opened the drawer below his locker, revealing a winged variant of the Republic issued JT-12 jetpack.
"Aerial infiltration, sir? Surely we ambush the shuttle before it takes off?" Skip innocently asked.
Havoc grinned and looked at Law, nodding his head towards their ammunition cabinet.
"Skip you're in charge of ordnance today. You will be placing a single charge above the shuttle's engine channel while Style's keen eyes keep an eye out for any Hunting Flies that are hungry for 'flying Skips' today." Styles chuckled, pausing his pre-mission practice of cleaning his rifle in his bunk. Law handed Skip a pack of thermal charges and then went to his own locker.
Skip looked down at the string of explosives dangling from his hand.
"Command sure knows how to make a mission exciting." Skip turned around to find Fixer standing behind him holding a jetpack.
"She's brand new so don't scratch her." Fixer held the jetpack out to Skip. "I know you haven't gotten one yet so use mine for now."
Skip hooked the jetpack to his backplate, adjusting his shoulder plates to a more comfortable position. It was weighted well and had a power indicator that read '100%'.
"You're using that old thing over there then?" Skip pointed to a jetpack that was stripped of its blue paint and looked far beyond its prime.
Fixer looked at the jetpack, nodding his head slighty a few times and then put his arm around Skip. "That is my old reliable. It has yet to fail me. But don't worry, I gave you my new one because it was my idea to have you carry the bombs, rather than me, the ordanance specialist, to a shuttle midflight for a mission that the higher ups are unable to spare fighters for because Blitz Squad kicks ass."
Skip gave Fixer a smile of dissapointment, betrayal, happiness, and brotherly love all in one.
"This is a great chance for you to live a day in the life of Fixer, eh? Oh and don't worry, if anything happens to you I will complete the mission in your honor." Fixer slapped Skip's chest plate and walked away all giddy.
Skip looked and found a grinning Havoc that had been watching the whole interaction. "Fixer absorbed a few too many blasts from demolition training back on Kamino- isn't that right Fixer?"
Fixer finished putting on his jetpack and then looked at Havoc and Skip: "Bombs go boom." Fixer then turned around and went to his locker.
Havoc couldn't contain his laughter and Skip found himself in a moment of realization that his squad would always have his back; even when they still treated him like a rookie and made him carry the bombs that go 'boom'.

What's up everyone! It is super awesome to be back with a new build and a log entry for the 253rd Elite Legion RPG.
Figured this was an interesting opportunity to build upon Fixer's character and give him a little more "screen time" (I think that's the best time to describe it). My hope is to continue to tell and figure out the personalities and goals of Blitz Squad as I make more and more mission entries.
Hope y'all are doing well and I can't wait to get back in the swing of things.

The Broadsword was a project I started awhile back when I was first designing the Lancer, I was trying to build a jetpack for it and found some arms form some old Alpha team sets that made a pretty cool thruster pack! However I didn’t feel that the yellow color quite went with the lancer's theme so I set it aside for a later project. After deciding that I did not have any mechs that could accommodate this design I decided to build a new one for the jetpack, one that would be more humanoid (like the lancer) and maybe have a sword. It got pushed to the back of a long line of projects for awhile and when I finally decided to work on it I decided to add a bit of "gundam" styling to the design as well as building the cockpit similar to BT's from titianfall 2,. then I discovered I really didn’t have very many yellow "plating" parts and so I decided to start working in LEGO Digital Designer. Incidentally I ended up designing so much in LDD, I started posting screen shots and eventually renders as WIP pics. This seemed pretty popular on Instagram (you can go see them at www.instagram.com/deadglitch71/) so I kept going until I had built the entire mech in LDD (which is unusual for me). After that I constructed the skeleton to test joint functionality/weighting, made a few improvements to the model and then had to order a bunch of parts to get it plated and finished. The whole experience was interesting, I'm getting used to LDD enough to be comfortable to work in it but its hard to check against my current inventory when designing and I end up using a lot of parts I don’t actually own (I had to make 4 bricklink orders for the Broadsword) but then again it does let me use parts I don’t have so it's a back and forth thing.

I'm not going to make the usual Bio for this mech because I really don’t feel that this one will "fit in" with the rest of mecha, even in a prototype/concept sense like I did with the artillery piece
I did measure it and it would stand at 48ft high, scaled to the minifig (which I made form some exo-force sets to go with the gundam theme)
This is the first photo that I applied photo manipulation. Normally I try to shoot the series without any layering, but I couldn't resist the effect of rainbows!

This is a customized version of the original space series' red astronaut. The jetpack is made by me. I painted both his face (it is meant to be this simple to match the vintage style) and the space logo on the jetpack's front.

Back Stories
Silas and Skye grew up without parents, their father ran off before they were even born and their mother died in childbirth due to the altered genetics of the children she gave birth to. They were twins. Put into a foster home neither was adopted as their mother requested with her last words that they remain together. As they grew up their abilities manifested early and they discovered they were able to manipulate any type of metal when together. They soon found how to use this ‘power’ to their advantage. They moved from foster house to foster house but ended up causing more trouble then they were worth getting caught in the wrong crowd committing petty thieveries and small time robberies with the help of their ‘special’ skills. Eventually they went too far and ended up getting caught behind the wheel of a stolen car at fifteen. They spent two years in Juvie, separated. While there each became more solemn and distant, they barely talked to any of the other ‘juveniles’ and all they did was train themselves. As if they were preparing for something, they had never been apart for too long and weren’t prepared to do much without the other, so they needed to change that. Once released they decided to remain quite and get some payment from the people that had got them locked up in the first place, they needed a new plan. They were brought to a new foster home but neither had any intention of staying. One night they broke out and ran. The people they had worked for were part of a large underground operation that had criminal activities ranging from shoplifting to arms smuggling. Apparently at the head of this was well known businessmen Lex Luthor and people like him always had the cool toys. They broke into one of the warehouses by the docks they had heard mentioned by one of the other people they’d used to work with. They looked through the crates that were stacked in rows and found some interesting items, Soul took possession of a prototype Lexcorp stealth suit and some type of katana that obviously had some value, though would be used in combat instead of hanging off a mantel place. Skye found a lightweight battle war suit and two of what he was delighted to call jetpacks and some electro bo staff. Using masks to conceal their identity, they became thorns in the sides of the gang that the regret ever siding with. They needed to right their wrongs. When they turned eighteen they were well known in the small city they were set up in. Neither had taken what would be called a ‘superhero’ name and despite there many acts were almost dirt poor, living in some crummy rundown house because if the cops found them they’d be taken back to their foster house because they were underage and needed adult supervision. Little did they know that an organization called Mockingbird had been keeping a close eye on them for nearly three years ever since they were taken to Juvie. Mockingbird sent in Nexus Prime to find out about them and figure out if they held the other altered cells of the Alpha and Omega Nexus. Nexus kept a close eye on them and even lent a hand in silence when things almost turned south for the twins. Nexus was almost certain they contained the twin Nexuses. Mockingbird then went in much to Troy’s protests against there methods and stormed their building taking Skye and Soul by force but not before they fought back. Nexus intervened and somehow convinced the twins to come peacefully with them. Each was separated and brought to separate rooms. Finch talked to both of them explaining what they were in the same manner he had done to Troy. In the end they agreed to join the organization though their decision was influenced by the fact that they wouldn’t be aloud to leave anyway and that Mockingbird offered much better accommodations then they already had. They became close friends to Troy and joined him in his search for the other Nexuses. Though soon things would go south.
My second entry to TTPES superhero contest, Alpha and Omega Nexus the twin fighters. Soon I'll be starting a story with these guys and I plan to have a lot of fun with them.
Our jetpacks are highly dangerous, yet, many still use them.
It's not the best but, I somewhat like the photo.
Toa Nidhiki
Reforged, Fixed and Upgraded.
Half a year later after makuta's defeat & Lhikans death, former Toa of Air, Nidhiki would get another chance to redeem himself someday, but rest & repairs came first, Nidhiki would wake up with some of his memories intact, reminding him of his past life & not to make the same mistake again as Nidhiki has lost everything, he messed up before but now he could prove to redeem himself, however could he really face his brother again? If Nidhiki is certain then he would be challenged the same fate as Takanuva, dropped off at islands he never heard of, trials that would test his worthiness as a Toa, joining a new team for years long before he was allowed to return his world. Cladded in silver armor that kept him safer and focused, preventing evil from distracting him ever again, his armor shined as much as gold, blinding those with evil intent. Toa Nidhiki would have alot to relearn & earn his place again.
Toa Nidhiki swings back into the living, deep in thought, haunted by his past life, worried no one will accept him ever again, and after one little slip up? just thinking about everything that has happened and cant be undone or changed, he would need to realize to learn from his mistakes and be more prepared for a better and brighter future, he has forgotten what it was like being a Toa and deep down he knew this was always meant to be his true self and he truly missed his brother Toa and their grand respect.

Toa Nidhiki's new wings allows him to fly like a aced jet fighter pilot or as the fearsome dragons of legend. Wanted to make a mech with a Knight's Kingdom helmet and this was the result. (has a jetpack, machine gun, and flip out wrist saw)
Like most of my illustrations, Joe started out as a sketchbook doodle. I did a quick little sketch of an alien with holes in his head and light shining from the openings. Originally he was just standing there, but I thought that was too boring so I gave him a jetpack and put him in a flying pose.
Usually when I draw an alien I give them detached pointed ears. I thought I'd try something new this time and draw ears that are built into his head.
I had a lot of trouble coming up with a suitable color for the sky. No matter what color I tried, some part of Joe's body would blend in with it. I finally quit worrying about it and made it green already.
I didn't even think about the color of the light streaming from his head; I just sort of automatically made it a yellowish green because it seemed like a nice alien color. Now that I step back and look at it though, that's pretty much the same color as a lightning bug's photochemical light. Serendipity!
