Flooding in Wintringham Way, Purley-on-Thames on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th January 2014 led to route 16 not being able to serve Purley village, terminating at Purley Post Office instead. On Wednesday 8th January, buses returned to Purley village, operating into the village via New Hill as usual then continuing via St. Mary's Avenue to terminate outside St. Mary's Church using part of the church car park as a turning circle.
Unfortunately Reading Buses were reporting that by 1:30pm flooding in Purley had reached St. Mary's Avenue and so buses had to be withdrawn from the village and reverted to terminating at Purley Post Office on the main A329.
Cones were laid out on part of the church car park for buses to turn around. However the driver of 841 thought better of it and did a three-point turn instead!

This one is a bit obvious and lacking in subtlety, but it's how I'm feeling right now.
The sun is getting low and the light is fading as evening approaches as Nottingham tram 204 departs Market Square tram stop, 8th January 2015. 204 is one of a fleet of fifteen Bombardier five segment articulated Incentro trams built at Derby in 2002/03. They seat 64 passengers and have a maximum capacity of 191 passengers. They operate from a 750V dc overhead line system and have a top speed of 50mph.

i couldn't believe it was the last day of january sitting by the outside pool, sunhat on, basking in the warm light, flip flops, no scarf, girls swimming. exhale. the adults in the room, myself included, actually embarrassed fi when we started to dance to 'i like big butts.' we all laughed about elli's conversation with her friend, the 'only boring people get bored' comment, and the words that followed.
