This was the first leather jacket I painted. Just acrylics... I chose the Punisher logo but applied my own "look" to it. If I'd only known then what I know now, I'd have airbrushed it!
I found a funky curtain at the sales and had a woollen longcoat I made a century ago but never wore, together they became a jacket. It is fully reversible.

Behind the Gold Hill Hotel was the Yellow Jacket Mine, one of the most important mines of the area and a major contributor to the area's economy. Like all mines of the time, work was dangerous and done in tight conditions hundreds of meters below ground by candlelight. On April 7, 1869 while descending to begin the morning shift, the day crew working 304m down discovered a smoldering fire at 280m evidently accidentally created when a night crew candle ignited the square timbers. Within a few minutes of discovery the area collapsed, releasing toxic fumes into the interconnected Yellow Jacket, Crown Point and Kentuck Mines. Miners scrambled up to the slow and minimal load-bearing cages, desperately cramming to be hoisted up. Those lucky enough to get on recalled hearing the unfortunate pitching straight into the shaft or collapsing from the fumes. Several foremen and miners had limited success with rescuing stranded miners before being overcome by the fumes themselves. After 2 days of battling the flames, the decision was made to seal off the mines and let the fires burn themselves out, which took over a month. Officially the death toll was 35, but with many bodies never recovered the actual number is uncertain. It was the worst mine disaster in the history of Nevada.
Later rumors circulated that someone had deliberately set the fire to crash the market on silver, though nothing has ever been proven. Also because of the accident, Adolph Sutro, who had been unsuccessfully searching for investors for his plan to dig a tunnel through Mount Davidson to ventilate and drain the Comstock Lode, suddenly found takers.
