The Nehru Jacket is a hip-length tailored coat for men that has a mandarin collar and closely resembles an Indian achkan or sherwani. A Nehru Jacket can be styled in many diverse ways to match the occasion. It is mainly worn for Indian celebratory occasions such as weddings, festivals, etc., by pairing it with a kurta pajama ensemble. It can also be worn for formal events, paired with formal shirts, and for semi-formal events.

This jacket was painted for a friend, to cover up an existing design on the back. She knew that she wanted a "vaporwave" colour scheme: bright pinks, blues, purples and oranges. She also knew she wanted something futuristic, with line art and lots of details. We wanted to explore the idea that advances in technology don’t always lead to advances in quality of life. We worked very closely together to design the layout, character and background. Through this process I learned that I work best when exchanging and discussing ideas. The jacket is still in progress, with some of the line art needing to be traced over before it’s complete.
The lined jacket for the warm-up outfit already had the logo stitched on the front and a huge one on the back. My friend asked me if i could stitch the name in an arch over and under the logo. Another bit of nervousness as I started stitching, but again, everything was lined up and it stitched out perfectly. She was very happy.
