With their rock-hard shells, limpets cling to rocks in inter-tidal areas that are exposed to heavy Wave action.

Sorry, ran out of time and weather to get something for Macro Mondays, but with a theme of "It's Alive" could not resist finding a photo of these little organisms and cropping it to more of a macro..

New addition!! I’ve been having fun with the Canon 20D but when I found a 50D body that was cheap but wouldn’t turn on, figured it was worth a shot.

Hooked up the grip from the 20D that was charged up, still nothing.

Tested another CF card and it came alive!!

Reformatted the one it had, works like new!

Now to eventually find a canon lens 😂

I only have the two lensbaby lenses and the Olympus adapter (only good within so many feet).

Debating on letting the Lensbaby composer go so I can find a prime lens.

Our 6-month-old baby stopped moving just long enough for me to snap this picture.

It's alive! The shell moves!

While walking on the beach at Southend-on-Sea we saw some tracks in the sand! Following the tracks led us to watch this Common Periwinkle on its travels!

To the naked eye the creature inside the shell looks to be black, but the macro shot reveals that is is actually beautifully patterned! The wonders of nature and the wonders of macro photography! Happy Macro Mondays everyone!

Onion that sat on the counter so long it has started to grow.

No idea what this is, but I could have used it for the Marco Mondays Group theme, other than I liked the other photo better (previous photo).

I think it's a weevil, but need clarification. If it is then this is a 1st for me.

For Macro Mondays theme 'It's Alive'.

I couldn't believe the size of this flower growing at Risco Bello aquatic gardens in Tenerife.

This "composite flower" (flower head) has deep, rich purple tones. Each tiny flower is not much more than an inch (2.5 cm) long. The flower stem is such a dark purple it almost looks black. Even though I took this photo in one of the gardens here at home in October, I cannot for the life of me recall now what it is called...ooops.

This is a macro picture of the left ear of my son's African White-belly hedgehog (Atelerix albiventris). It is a small, very friendly and cheerful fellow. He likes to sit on your lap and have you stroke his back.

Macro Mondays' weekly theme : It's Alive

During our walk along one of the many trails at a nearby arboretum, I spotted this fallen branch that had several patches of moss growing on it. Upon closer inspection, I further noticed some of those patches had little fingers growing out of them.

I moved in for a close up and suddenly had a feeling perhaps I needed to step back - just incase those little green fingers sensed my presence and turned in my direction.

I've got to stop watching so many sci-fi horror movies.
