The second iteration of the ASEAN Junior Fellowship Programme (AJFP) with the ASEAN Secretariat was launched today. At the Opening Ceremony, ASEAN Secretary-General Dr Kao Kim Hourn spoke highly of the importance of the youth as building blocks for ASEAN’s Community building endeavours. The AJFP is an initiative born out of Brunei Darussalam’s Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2021 and celebrates the ASEAN youth by expanding regional cooperation through friendly engagement of junior officers of ASEAN Member States whilst increasing their knowledge and effectiveness of work within a multilateral setting like ASEAN.

Seen in the greenhouses of the Kamo-so, I have no idea what this beauty is, but I love the pattern she grows in.
Recent setup, rigged for 50-mile semi-urban riding. I made the framepack for a former bike, but it feels functional on this geometry. Stable, too. I store a 2L water bladder inside, along with a heap of other stuff. I reworked the LED lamp configuration to run directly from the dynamo hub, through a rectifier bridge and smaller capacitor, both of which are epoxied in that little pack near the front hub. The light is intermittent until about 7mph, after which it's steady.

Still image from the Development of Fools Paradise, an Immersive Environment by Paul Hertz, with Music by Stephen Dembski, Masks by Mark Klink, and Calligraphy by Koy Suntichotinun. To be published and exhbited by DiMoDA, dimoda.art/, opening at SIGGRAPH Asia in Bangkok at the end of November 2017. The work, Fools Paradise, is based on the Proverbs of Hell by William Blake, and was originally staged in 2004 as a VR performance with live musicians conducted by Stephen Dembski. See paulhertz.net/paradise/index.html for more on the 2004 production and the intermedia collaboration Hertz and Dembski developed to create the world and the music.
After struggling with the narrative part of the infographic I completely changed my layout, instead of having information dotted about the page I looked to the precedents I first posted and decided it would flow best top to bottom. I now need to work on the colour scheme as it doesn't suit the content of the art history nor X-rays, it is also not consistent or interesting to look at.
2nd iteration of my time-series-panography. These were taken at sunrise (7:48 am, 1/3/2010), noon (12:27pm, 1/2/2010), sunset (5:19p, 1/2/2010), and night (10:58p, 1/3/2010) at the northwest corner of 14th and U Streets in front of the Reeves Center. Despite the bitter cold that was upon us, the street traffic was reasonable.

Apples iPod has seen a number of changes throughout its lifetime. Many have heard the myth that Steve Jobs was given the first model for the iPod, which he dropped into a fish tank, claiming the air bubbles coming from the device illustrated how much useless empty space the device had, thus illustrating a design change. However, as the product has continued to grow, it has seen a number of development changes, moving from a black and white interface, to a color interface, and eventually from a tactile circle pad interface to a pure touch interface.
This project showcases my innovation - throughout my process I tried a variety of methods of making to push my ideas to new places. In the first phase I made quick forms with legos, applying the lens I had discovered in the painting. Honing this, using Rhinoceros and stacked museum board, I began to form a vocabulary to identify these different definitions of ground by. I developed my "thin ground" via fabric analysis and vacuum forming. I tested my ideas with a concrete form, and after photographing, played with scale through quick sketches. I scoped a catalog of thresholds and bending walls before embarking on my final iteration, folding a long continuous strip of museum board.
Three different paint schemes of the Maine Central, in order of appearance. I don't think the two newer paint jobs are that far apart in age since the Pan Am branding was very new at that time. I certainly don't have many photos of either scheme that clean. Of course, it wouldn't take too long for paint weathering and taggers to change their character. Heck, some tagger had already put a small tag on the PAR car.
In the process of examining the cars, I noticed that the bridge changes truss designs in the middle of the photo. I don't have any handy info to explain it but my first guess is that the left section, a newer design, is the result of an upgrade or flood replacement.
