Ryde Pier - Isle of Wight, England
Ryde's pier is the second-longest seaside pier in the country. Only Southend's is longer. The original wooden structure at Ryde opened in 1814.

The Isle of Wight Needles Lighthouse can be seen towards the left of the horizon. On the far left is Hengistbury Head. The water to the left of the Isle of Wight is the Solent which runs between the island and the English Mainland.
During a 1979 summer vacation to Bournemouth, we did a day trip to the Isle of Wight. Here we see the Yarmouth village square - with a couple of nice cars. Who can guess them?
We arrived on the Isle of Wight on a blustery day and enjoyed a crab sandwich and a pint of locally brewed beer by this very welcome fire.
