Coming to the end of my walk, the weather was changing fast, and I had to work faster to stay ahead of it..

Mercedes Benz Citaro No. 214 - KMN 214 U at Port Erin, Isle of Man

The Bedford YRQ final move on the Isle of Man was to position it on the early morning ferry, the Ben-My-Chree. One of the first vehicles on and one of the first off, such was the co operation of everyone concerned.

Isle of Man, May 2004.

I tried very hard to get a good seal shot, but they wouldn't come closer...

As Ken promised, there were lots of seals.

It was a nice break at the café, perhaps not for the juvenile gull that was pleading with lots of people for a titbit - but it is against the IoM law to feed them.

I didn't get a good shot of the café - pictures here thesound.im

Built 1854, and the largest working waterwheel in the world.

North Barrule on the Isle of Man

Flanked in the distance by the world famous Lady Isabella, the Laxey water driven wheel - largest in the world - is Hemmings, Holsworthy Setra coach K19 HEM. Built in 1854 the wheel was designed to drive the pump to remove water from the undergound mine workings, which at the lowest point were of a greater distance from the surface than the Isle of Man's highest point, Snaefell or the Snow Mountain. The coach is one of several hundred from a wide variety of operators that make the sea crossing to Mann each year, and is caught parked up on the Laxey coach park in Mines Road, opposite Ham & Egg Terrace.

Taken December 23-28, 1966. File name (372_196702013black.tif) is based on information on slide mount (date developed, position, and ink color). Color slide, reformatted digital.

Tynwald, the Manx Government, was based in Castle Rushen by the 1500s and Castletown was the Island's capital until Tynwald moved to Douglas during the 1860s and 1870s.

I think Caesar was looking forward to his cuppa at the end of the walk.
