New version. I was not satisfied with the last composition...^^
ILCE-7RM2 + IRIX 150mm F/2.8 Macro 1:1 Dragonfly
This view greeted me upon arrival at Shellharbour.
Pentax K1 w Irix 21/1.4
ISO1250 f/8 8s and 20s
Twelve frames hdr blended in ON1 PhotoRaw to single hdr frames then panorama stitched.
Tweaked and touched up in Affinity Photo 2, touched up in Topaz AI and finished off back in PhotoLab.
Stack of images using Irix 15mm with filter, one without during totality, and one after for foreground.
On the glimpse of golden hour, waiting for blue hour and enjoying the wonderful stormy sunset colors. This was worth the hike (and sweat). If you look really close you can even spot a small sunstar in the middle of the frame ;)
Also this is taken with my new Irix 15mm f/2.4 Firefly lens, so far, so good. Three exposures with HDR blending in Lightroom.
It looks like rushing up the trail with my backpack loaded was worth the effort. I literally arrived minutes before the sun sunk underneath the horizon and was quite happy that it peeked through underneath that layer of clouds at the horizon.
I shot this both in portrait and landscape but the square format was giving me the best composition in this case.
Shot on Nikon D800 with Irix 15/2.4 Firefly (and a tripod of course)
Faint aurora with a hint of crescent moon to light the scene -
Grafton NSW
Though I'd have a go as the night was so still and clear - The sensor showed a bit of glow, the eye saw the barest hint of warm light over the dark horizon.
Still as thinks go it's the best I've seen to date ..
Pentax K1 w Irix 21/1.4
ISO6400 f/1.4 10s (-1ev as reported by the light meter)
Single frame raw developed in DxO PhotoLab 8, colour graded in Nik 7 Color Efex, tweaked in Topaz AI-3 and finished off back in PhotoLab.
NB - did mess up on this one far too much choma from running wide open - f/2 on this works so much better ... must be getting out of practice..
A small wild orchid blooming near the house.
It’s a little past its glory.

Out on a clear July night at the cottage for first night sky images with the Irix 15mm f/2.4
I find it inconsistent that the Bruce Peninsula be designated a Dark Sky Preserve and yet the lights glare over Tobermory well after everything has closed for the night. A particular culprit is the ferry dock and their blazing lights :-/
Single exposure, edits (mainly to reduce light pollution) in LR, PS & ON1

The first composition of the morning and the last from the shoot (thank goodness), a three quarter moon overhead lit the ocean quite well and didn't drown out the stars too much.
The Full Worm Moon was hiding in wispy clouds just enough to make a halo. I was testing a new lens the IRIX 15mm f2.5 (Firefly)
or "Bigger than Ben Hur.."
First outing with the SmallRif light panel. Many layers masks stacks edits later here 'tis :-)
Technically I'm not sure it's worth trying to document this one I'm not even going to read that much.
The basics
Pentax K1 w Irix 21/1.4
ISO 6400, 3200 and 640
Sky = 12 raw frames stacked and developed in Starry Landscape Stacker, Foreground (fireground ?!) 15 frames ISO640 f/11 20. or 30c depending on the light source at the time.
SmallRig LED Video light set mostly 2700k or there'abouts at varying light levels.
A lot of running around in the dark trying not to bump the tripod.
Stacked, masked and blended in Affinity Photo 2 with a visit to Topaz Denoise to smooth out some punished pixels on the way home to DxO PhotoLab 6 to take a well earned nap.
