"Hanging on the ledge"
This picture of a staircase was taken in an abandoned villa. I almost needed to hang on the ledge of the stair...
This one was also taken without tripod.
Sometimes the gods smile. One of the main drivers for travelling half way across the world was to join the Cloud Appreciation Society in its quest to see Aurora Borealis - the Northern Lights. BINGO! First night and we abandon dinner for a display that just went on and on. Truly blessed.

📍Eagle Lake, ON
Another of my Milky Way nightscapes from my recent quick trip up to South River, Ontario. This image is located on the Eagle Lake Narrows. What a great spot for night sky photography. This time of year we have the Milky Way to the south and northern lights to the north. The narrows is a great spot to view and photograph both. Adjacent to Mikisew Provincial Park, this is definitely an underrated corner of Ontario !

Not many better experiences than venturing out under a clear canopy of stars on a dark moonless night. I scouted this location on Google Maps while planning on trying out the Eagle Lake Narrows near South River Ontario for some nightscape photography. Ended up being even better than I imagined. Once the clouds cleared out, the wind calmed and the sky cleared to reveal what seemed like the whole universe. If you’ve never experienced a starry night far away from the cities you’re truly missing out !

Never really considered myself an anxious person .. but lockdown is showing me some aspects of myself I'd rather not deal with - luckily we have the release of being able to get out and exercise .. catch some fresh air.
This moment surely helped a lot today.. hope it helps you too.

So... I just recently put my dirty hands on an Irix 11mm for my 5D.
I must say, I’m really impressed by this lens!
I’m still testing it, before coronavirus will have locked me in my house. At that point you will see waaaay more pictures of my lovely feathered best friends.
I really wished Chitzkoi, my blue bird and my best friend also, could have been with me this evening when I was taking photos, he would have been left speechless with the beautiful sunset we had, but unfortunately it’s still too cold for him to go out 😔
Großes Torfmoor bei Lübbecke (Hille), Great Peatbog near Lübbecke
I started at 1:00 a.m and after 15 minutes walk decided for this place to settle my tripod just in time to have a 90 enjoyable minutes to watch and shoot. I saw 3 shooting stars altogether and was most delighted to see one on my pictures

Lens Flares and Tidal Returns at Lake Illawarra...
One of the most serious weeks I've had since starting with the University 32 years ago - Losing friends and collegues with yet more of 2020's ongoing trainwreck.
A chance to catch the sunset with the headphones on and take the time to breath and process today was very welcome.
