The other day I was contracted be a part of a music video. It was a long day, but a lot of fun!
I like this photo of me (which isn’t usually the case). So I decided to edit it a bit in Lightroom/Photoshop. Saturated the pink color, sharpened and denoised it a bit. Put a boarder around it just to give it some “artistic” nuance. Then upscaled it since it was an iPhone pic…
…hmmm… not bad. 😊
This is a quick iPhone picture from a performance for Super Bowl Sunday Gospel Celebration in Las Vegas earlier this year. I was lucky enough to get the call to perform with EW&F and also Robin Thicke. It was a quick performance and a very short television broadcast. I’m probably on screen for a total of 3 seconds! …but I am featured on the broadcast. I couldn’t post this picture for a while because of the NDA… That’s bassist Verdine White on the end and lead vocalist Philip Bailey next to him. Not the greatest photo but it documents a high point of my career. 😊❤️😊
This dog was not too happy with the monopod getting too near - giving but a great expression in it’s eye.
The lovely dog was fine but I don't want to be giving any stress to the dog but by then the shot was in the bag.
The only part of getting up early to go to work is that you might get to see something like this.
I will never worry about leaving home without a "real" camera anymore.

Very pleased that this panorama turned out OK given the extreme winds and rain encountered during the process of capturing this coastal scene.
It actually looks like it was a drone shot but it wasn't. I was standing on the edge of the cliff, as far east as I could safely get, well probably, given the strong wind gusts, not necessarily safely.
Like all my panoramas this image was taken handheld but with my relatively new IPhone 13 Pro Max.
Getting the horizon straight in such conditions was very tricky and is often the case. It was necessary to take several shots before a satisfactory result could be achieved.
If you don't get it right in the time you have at a place then another opportunity to revisit can often be many years away, if ever, so it's worth persevering.
On the last day of August, I took my smartphone (plus my Fujifilm GFX100s) out to hike that Naches Peak Loop Trail at Mount Rainier National Park. Part of that trail turns into the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), pictured here. I'd gone to investigate a little lake/pond and was heading back to the main trail when I saw (or rather, first heard) the two hikers you see to the left of the shot.
I often like adding people to my images - partly because I use them in articles published in the National Parks Traveler, and mainly because I think people often make a very nice scel and reference point.

I'm gone fishing
I got me a line
Nothing I do is gonna make the difference
So I'm taking the time
And you ain't never gonna be happy
Anyhow, anyway
So I'm gone fishing
And I'm going today...

Windsor & Eton Brewery were sponsors of the Beach Rugby event over the Jubilee weekend. Great selections of ales on tap.
Sadly I was "working" so could not enjoy any drinks while on duty doing the photography.

This was a somewhat memorable photo taking experience because I needed to stand amidst prickly Smilax australis vines in order to capture the foreground edge. While my legs were badly cut and bleeding after the event, I did nevertheless manage to avoid any dangerous snakes that tend to lurk in such places.
The full width of the panorama view, to the left is Little Venice, to the right is Paddington Basin and behind is the Paddington Bear Pawprint Trail statue.
Bishops Bridge Road is the road above this wide bridge.
