Completed and flowered up š¹ššŗšø
We went to two garden centres on yesterday. The second one (Gordon Riggs at Todmorden) was miles better than the first one. We ended up making two trips there too.
We then got home and just planted, planted and planted.
One of the planters out of camera shot is full of herbs.

I visited the Oltu Bazar in Erzurum, Anatolia in Turkey where shops sell jewelry made of āOltu Stoneā, also called "Erzurum stone", which is mined in villages in the mountains near the city. It is a black gemstone made from fossilized trees subjected to high pressure during geological folding. A woman in a black chador is sitting in the doorway.

Airliner En Route To Tampa Airport Flying Over Apollo Beach Palm Trees Against Gorgeous Blue Sky & Clouds - IMRANā¢
There is so much beauty in every moment around us. Even looking up and capturing an airliner flying overheard as I did in this photo can be a magical moment. With billions of us on the planet and thousands of minutes in our lives every day, imagine the trillions of magical moments we miss seeing, much less capturing, in any given year.

Complete and painted.
Iāve just built 5 of these raised flower / veg beds.
Theyāre made from 2ā tanalised timber.
6ft long, 2ft high, 2āwide. The posts in the corners are 3ā x 3ā.
I painted them with Cuprinol Ducksback prior to building to match our fence and pergola etc.
I still have to attach an impermeable barrier to the insides.
I had to keep dashing the showers yesterday, it held me up quite a bit.
My wife can then decide what she wants in them.
Theyāll all be situated in our back garden.

The strange landscape like something from a film set, but is mainly trees and some main timber on the left - a relic from a previous port of some sort I guess.
It was welly boot time wandering around here with slippery mud trying to catch you out. This whole area gets flooded when the high tides come in so it is best to visit at a low tide.

The lawn is finished. I just have to keep it well watered.
On Tuesday Iāll take delivery of 3 tonnes of Cotswold chippings. These are clean 20mm stones that are buff in colour.
Iāll wheelbarrow these and then pour them in buckets around the edges of the new lawn. That will then be the back garden completed.
Soon Iāll be working on the side garden and new shed.

New Moon & Venus From Holodeck Tampa Bay Planet Earth At Sunset & Maghreb Prayer Of Gratitude - IMRANā¢
I sat down to say my Maghreb (sunset) prayers of gratitude and gasped with joy. An even deeper sense of gratitude engulfed me on facing this vision towards the gulf of Mexico. Seeing this blessed moment outside the windows of my blessed Apollo Beach home on Tampa Bay, Florida was resonant at so many levels.
The sun was setting just to the right of the picture. A new moon (a symbol for many Muslims as the cross is for Christians) and a bright evening star, Venus I think, also reminded me of the flag of my motherland, Pakistan. āļøš šµš°
Fortunate enough to be alive, healthy, happy, loved, and still able to pursue my dreams, fantasies, boundary-shattering loves & sensual experiences, and fantastic adventures & globe-spanning journeys, I bowed my head in prayer even more.

I thought that wind was wild, having to duck down beside a boat to avoid being buffeted around.
This is a 30 second exposure which has shown nicely how the sky and clouds are moving around. The app to do this is called ReeHeld, which will work handheld but find I get great results when it is on a tripod.
iPhone 13 Pro Max used with ISO 50, lens used f/1.5 and 5.7mm (which is meaningless really if you only use a DSLR !! )
The location is Weybourne on the North Norfolk coastline, taken on 15th April 2024, when we had that wild weather.
Ready for their plants and flowers šø
All 5 boxes (one out of camera shot) are filledā¦
We had 1 tonne of limestone delivered on Friday, and 3 tonnes of a soil / peat mix delivered yesterday, we also picked up 12 bags of compost yesterday.
It involved a lot of wheelbarrow work. Fortunately the tonne bags were put over the fence into the side garden by a wagon with a hiab.
So each box has approx ā¦
6ā of limestone chippings at the base
14ā of the soil / peat nutritional mix
3ā of Miracle grow compost
Each is lined with DPM (Damp proof membrane) to the sides; and an anti weed matting to the base.
We did plant a small Blueberry bush that we already had yesterday. The small tree at the end is a conference pear tree.
Today weāre going to the garden centre for the plants and flowers š!!
So it will be a day of planting, and me doing as Iām told šš
Hope the rain stops!

A bit of work to doā¦
So yesterday we had 60 sq metres of turf arrive along with 12 tonnes of grade 2 soil.
Weāre lawning the back garden, where the planters are. I think Iāve over done it with the amount of soil that Iāve ordered, but if so itāll do for the side garden (for next year, Iām thinking).
Well, Iām not a real gardener so Iāve got a gardener coming with his lad. Iāll be wheelbarrowing the soil around to the back mainly⦠and the turf of course.
Itās about 50 yards.
I think Iām lucky that I could get it all delivered over the fence⦠they used a Hiab.
I am looking forward to the day ahead.
At the moment itās looking like Iāll have to miss todayās football ⦠Burnley v Blackpool, a derby game too, which is unfortunate! But this has to take precedence.
Happy Soil Saturday! #HSS
