Got a new toy for my mac and work too :D

So I got a second hand wacom- an old, 1st model intuos. I've never created anything with a tablet before, so i'm pretty pleased with the outcome. This was done in Painter.

I donwload a software from Corel, the Painter X where i use my wacom pen to draw art

For the Macro Mondays theme "office."

Many of us probably have a Wacom tablet in our offices. I was trying to think of how to make a macro of the Intuos tablet interesting. I decided to run Lightroom on my PC and position the tablet so that it would reflect the images from the Library module. (In fact, you can clearly see my Macro Mondays photo from the "ethereal" theme at the tip of the pen.) The pen was also a reflection. I suspended it just out of frame with a boom arm and clip.

For this photo, I wanted the draw the user's eyes to the reflection of the tip of the pen. I wanted "Wacom" to be clear, but I didn't want the label to be the focus of the photo. That's why I cropped the photo so that "Wacom" is crammed into a corner and upside-down. I also tried to focus on the reflection of the tip of the pen.

Post processing: rotated, cropped, and removed one spot from the photo.

This one is mine. With the help of my friend with the grey Skyline, I lowered it yesterday so the stance is now a bit better and the handling has been improved through the really tight stuff! :)

I just got a Wacom Intuos 3 9" x 12" Pen Tablet so I wanted to try and "roll up the window" in this shot using the tablet. I am still getting used to it but I certainly found the selection and brush tool much more easy to use.

....I appear to be lost in the learning curve of my new Intuos drawing tablet.....

First attempt...huge learning curve. If you don't see any postings for awhile, it is because i have completely immersed myself in the new soft-ware and toy. But, I absolutely will stay in contact with all of your photostreams.

....back to the drawing tablet!

...So that Batman Begins quote may not entirely go with the fact that I HAVE A NEW GOD AND ITS NAME IS WACOM INTUOS 3 9X12 TABLET!

Here's to making some awesome-ass art to pay back the $500 this thing cost me!

Yesterday I said goodbye to my old Trust tablet and said hello to my brand new Wacom Bamboo.

I didn't go for the Intuos because (of the price and) I think that Bamboo is good enough for what I usually do.

I believe that this can be the beginning of a good friendship...

2009

This is my first attempt at digital painting. I used a Wacom Intuos 4 graphics tablet and Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS5. The finished product is shown above with an early stage below. I tried to completely recreate the physical painting experience, from creating a toned ground, laying a sketch layer over it and filling in from there, working from dark to light. Other than the pattern of bricks in the wall, every aspect of the painting was completed by hand using the paint brush tool.

The experience is remarkably like "real" painting despite the mechanical abstraction layer between the hand and the imaginary painting surface. In the end, I have to conclude that it's only a clever simulation of painting, not really equivalent to the real thing. However, I can certainly see digital painting as a valuable method of planning a physical work.

For inspiration, I used a photo taken by steveartist.
