この度、ギャラリー枝香庵 Flatにて オランダを拠点とした
The Act of Painting "絵画と行為"(TAOP) の日本での2回目となる展覧会
"The Act Of Painting INTUITION (Works on paper)" を開催させていただく運びとなりました。
TAOPは、抽象絵画の意味を探求しながら、世界を巡り活動する国際的なアーティスト集団です。
今回のテーマは "直感"と"紙の作品"
みなさまとご一緒に抽象絵画について考える機会になりましたら幸いです。

The Act Of Painting- 現代絵画の可能性を追求するわたしたちの活動にとっ て "直感"は とても重要なものだ。わたしたちは無意識を可視化することに関 心を持っている。絵画を制作する過程で、無意識から生み出される”直感”は、思 考の遥か前からはじまっている。身体意識の延長として筆を用い、絵を描く者は 絵画の中で自己の存在を再確認する。美術家は、自ら創り出す空間の一部となる と同時にそれを観察し、自身の行為について考え、評価している。よって、生み 出される作品はつくり手の個人的な意識に限りなく結びついている。作品には表 現者それぞれの感性により、身体性や構築性が強く現れてくる。
今回発表する紙作品には 無意識を反映した抽象的な概念が 挿入、適応、具体化されている。紙に描いた作品は、美術家の個人的な記録、記念碑的な作品のた めの日記や習作として鑑賞することもできる。それらの作品は 直感的思考そのものであり、変化しながら追求される掴みどころのないイメージでもある。更な る実験の余地があり、例えば油彩画と比較すると柔軟性を帯びている。この柔ら かさ故に、作品には”直感"が反映されている。
美術家集団 "The Act of Painting" による ”直感” (紙作品)の展覧会は 銀座・ギャラリー枝香庵をはじめ、パークホテル東京 コリドーギャラリー34、 宝塚市立文化芸術センター・キューブホール、モエレ沼公園(調整中)へと巡回し ながら、抽象芸術家のための国際的な地位を確立することを目的としている。わ たしたちは常に、絵画に対する新しい接し方を追い求めている。日本各地の展覧 会では、現地のキュレーター、美術家などと交流をしながら、西洋の概念と 東 洋の視点との融合を試みる。その融合は絵画における”直感”の意味を探求する 豊かな土壌を築く 更なる発展の鍵となるだろう。

We are pleased to announce the exhibition "The Act of Painting “Intuition” (Works on Paper)" at Gallery Echo-Ann (Flat) Ginza Tokyo. It is the second traveling exhibition in Japan by the artist collective, "The Act Of Painting" (TAOP) based in the Netherlands.
TAOP is an international artist collective that travels around the world in search of the meaning of abstract paintings. Their theme for the traveling exhibition in Japan this year is "intuition" reflected on works on paper.
We hope this will be an opportunity for you to feel/think about abstract paintings.

The Act of Painting, Intuition (works on paper)
Intuition covers a great deal of what The Act of Painting collective's exhibitions and projects are about. Selected artists are concerned with making visible the unconscious. In the process of painting, the act itself is often hundredths of a second ahead of the thought. With the brush as an extension of the body's awareness, practitioners create a painterly environment in which their own presence is essential. They are part of the space they are creating and are simultaneously observing, appraising and considering their actions. Thus the works they create are closely related to their personal consciousness. Depending on existential differences the works may have a gestural appearance or a more constructed figure.
In these works on paper the abstract notion of the unconscious is being inserted into the image, adapted, materialized. The works on paper can be seen as personal notes of the artists, journals, studies for large-scaled monumental works. They are thoughts, volatile, searching, non-fixed images. There is room for experiment, the works are less loaded than an oil painting for instance. The lightness provides the brain an opportunity to manifest itself in a more intuitive way.
In this series of exhibitions, starting in Tokyo at Gallery Echo-Ann and continuing at Park Hotel Tokyo, and Takarazuka Arts Center the artist's collective The Act of Painting establishes itself as an international platform for abstract artists. Furthermore, the collective explores new ways of approaching painting. By inviting Japanese artists to participate in the shows, The Act of Painting is merging the eastern vision with the European notion of intuitive painting. The fusion can prove to be a fertile ground for further development in defining intuition.

Due to the Olympic Games, unfortunately TAOP traveling exhibition at The Park Hotel Tokyo will close on 4th June. The Hotel will be hosting guests related to the Olympic Games, and the public may not enter the hotel from 5th June, according to the restrictions related to COVID-19.
Our next traveling exhibition will take place at Takarazuka Arts Center, Hyogo from 10th-12th September 2021. See you in September!

Intuition Summer Festival 2009. Het was weer een topfeest. Hemelse trance onder een strak blauwe hemel. Jammer dat het geluid in de buitenarea niet echt top was. Binnen was het net een dampende sauna 's avonds. Dat bleek wel want alle lenzen besloegen, waardoor het focussen binnen lastig was. Al met al toch nog een aardig setje, dat de sfeer van de dag goed weergeeft. Beleef die topdag en jullie party-momenten nu nog één keer opniew, door de slideshow te draaien. Thx. again Paul voor de leuke foto's! En Menno en Alda, respect! Jullie zijn er weer ingeslaagd om een topfeest neer te zetten. Pachtige line-up met de beste trance van het moment! Klasse! En last but not least, thx. to all nice partypeople and dj's for the nice photo-opportunities. Het was weer fun om jullie allemaal ontmoet te hebben :) Vooral de mini-after in de camper van Anja was erg gezellig :) Leuk om nog even door te gaan tot 03.00 uur op de parkeerplaats. Thx. Frans & Ginny voor de music en ride home! Moeten we vaker doen :)

Dorkbot is a meeting of people interested in electric/electronic art in the broadest sense; robotics, kinetic art, microcontrollers, interactive art, algorithmic music, net.art... The only real conditions are that it is a bit strange and involves electricity in some way. It is really defined by whoever turns up, be it engineers who want to be artists, artists who want to be engineers, or the otherwise confused.

Dogs are smarter than we give them credit for. Normally Jordy will curl up and cuddle on my chest for no more than 5-10 minutes until he gets restless and jumps down. Something tells me he knew I was leaving for a couple of weeks because he stayed there curled up for 2 hours and 15 minutes straight last night.

The Act Of Painting- 現代絵画の可能性を追求するわたしたちの活動にとっ て "直感"は とても重要なものだ。わたしたちは無意識を可視化することに関 心を持っている。絵画を制作する過程で、無意識から生み出される”直感”は、思 考の遥か前からはじまっている。身体意識の延長として筆を用い、絵を描く者は 絵画の中で自己の存在を再確認する。美術家は、自ら創り出す空間の一部となる と同時にそれを観察し、自身の行為について考え、評価している。よって、生み 出される作品はつくり手の個人的な意識に限りなく結びついている。作品には表 現者それぞれの感性により、身体性や構築性が強く現れてくる。
今回発表する紙作品には 無意識を反映した抽象的な概念が 挿入、適応、具体化されている。紙に描いた作品は、美術家の個人的な記録、記念碑的な作品のた めの日記や習作として鑑賞することもできる。それらの作品は 直感的思考そのものであり、変化しながら追求される掴みどころのないイメージでもある。更な る実験の余地があり、例えば油彩画と比較すると柔軟性を帯びている。この柔ら かさ故に、作品には”直感"が反映されている。
美術家集団 "The Act of Painting" による ”直感” (紙作品)の展覧会は 銀座・ギャラリー枝香庵をはじめ、パークホテル東京 コリドーギャラリー34、 宝塚市立文化芸術センター・キューブホール、モエレ沼公園(調整中)へと巡回し ながら、抽象芸術家のための国際的な地位を確立することを目的としている。わ たしたちは常に、絵画に対する新しい接し方を追い求めている。日本各地の展覧 会では、現地のキュレーター、美術家などと交流をしながら、西洋の概念と 東 洋の視点との融合を試みる。その融合は絵画における”直感”の意味を探求する 豊かな土壌を築く 更なる発展の鍵となるだろう。

We are pleased to announce the exhibition "The Act of Painting “Intuition” (Works on Paper)" at Gallery Echo-Ann (Flat) Ginza Tokyo. It is the second traveling exhibition in Japan by the artist collective, "The Act Of Painting" (TAOP) based in the Netherlands.
TAOP is an international artist collective that travels around the world in search of the meaning of abstract paintings. Their theme for the traveling exhibition in Japan this year is "intuition" reflected on works on paper.
We hope this will be an opportunity for you to feel/think about abstract paintings.

The Act of Painting, Intuition (works on paper)
Intuition covers a great deal of what The Act of Painting collective's exhibitions and projects are about. Selected artists are concerned with making visible the unconscious. In the process of painting, the act itself is often hundredths of a second ahead of the thought. With the brush as an extension of the body's awareness, practitioners create a painterly environment in which their own presence is essential. They are part of the space they are creating and are simultaneously observing, appraising and considering their actions. Thus the works they create are closely related to their personal consciousness. Depending on existential differences the works may have a gestural appearance or a more constructed figure.
In these works on paper the abstract notion of the unconscious is being inserted into the image, adapted, materialized. The works on paper can be seen as personal notes of the artists, journals, studies for large-scaled monumental works. They are thoughts, volatile, searching, non-fixed images. There is room for experiment, the works are less loaded than an oil painting for instance. The lightness provides the brain an opportunity to manifest itself in a more intuitive way.
In this series of exhibitions, starting in Tokyo at Gallery Echo-Ann and continuing at Park Hotel Tokyo, and Takarazuka Arts Center the artist's collective The Act of Painting establishes itself as an international platform for abstract artists. Furthermore, the collective explores new ways of approaching painting. By inviting Japanese artists to participate in the shows, The Act of Painting is merging the eastern vision with the European notion of intuitive painting. The fusion can prove to be a fertile ground for further development in defining intuition.

Not a lot of action and you might find it a bit dry if you're not a bit of a science geek, but I found it interesting. Does a good job of showing how politics and personal vendettas affect even research into curing cancer.

TAOPは、抽象絵画の意味を探求しながら、世界を巡り活動する国際的なアーティスト集団です。

Intuition Summer Festival 2009. Het was weer een topfeest. Hemelse trance onder een strak blauwe hemel. Jammer dat het geluid in de buitenarea niet echt top was. Binnen was het net een dampende sauna 's avonds. Dat bleek wel want alle lenzen besloegen, waardoor het focussen binnen lastig was. Al met al toch nog een aardig setje, dat de sfeer van de dag goed weergeeft. Beleef die topdag en jullie party-momenten nu nog één keer opniew, door de slideshow te draaien. Thx. again Paul voor de leuke foto's! En Menno en Alda, respect! Jullie zijn er weer ingeslaagd om een topfeest neer te zetten. Pachtige line-up met de beste trance van het moment! Klasse! En last but not least, thx. to all nice partypeople and dj's for the nice photo-opportunities. Het was weer fun om jullie allemaal ontmoet te hebben :) Vooral de mini-after in de camper van Anja was erg gezellig :) Leuk om nog even door te gaan tot 03.00 uur op de parkeerplaats. Thx. Frans & Ginny voor de music en ride home! Moeten we vaker doen :)

この度、ギャラリー枝香庵 Flatにて オランダを拠点とした
The Act of Painting "絵画と行為"(TAOP) の日本での2回目となる展覧会
"The Act Of Painting INTUITION (Works on paper)" を開催させていただく運びとなりました。
TAOPは、抽象絵画の意味を探求しながら、世界を巡り活動する国際的なアーティスト集団です。
今回のテーマは "直感"と"紙の作品"
みなさまとご一緒に抽象絵画について考える機会になりましたら幸いです。

The Act Of Painting- 現代絵画の可能性を追求するわたしたちの活動にとっ て "直感"は とても重要なものだ。わたしたちは無意識を可視化することに関 心を持っている。絵画を制作する過程で、無意識から生み出される”直感”は、思 考の遥か前からはじまっている。身体意識の延長として筆を用い、絵を描く者は 絵画の中で自己の存在を再確認する。美術家は、自ら創り出す空間の一部となる と同時にそれを観察し、自身の行為について考え、評価している。よって、生み 出される作品はつくり手の個人的な意識に限りなく結びついている。作品には表 現者それぞれの感性により、身体性や構築性が強く現れてくる。
今回発表する紙作品には 無意識を反映した抽象的な概念が 挿入、適応、具体化されている。紙に描いた作品は、美術家の個人的な記録、記念碑的な作品のた めの日記や習作として鑑賞することもできる。それらの作品は 直感的思考そのものであり、変化しながら追求される掴みどころのないイメージでもある。更な る実験の余地があり、例えば油彩画と比較すると柔軟性を帯びている。この柔ら かさ故に、作品には”直感"が反映されている。
美術家集団 "The Act of Painting" による ”直感” (紙作品)の展覧会は 銀座・ギャラリー枝香庵をはじめ、パークホテル東京 コリドーギャラリー34、 宝塚市立文化芸術センター・キューブホール、モエレ沼公園(調整中)へと巡回し ながら、抽象芸術家のための国際的な地位を確立することを目的としている。わ たしたちは常に、絵画に対する新しい接し方を追い求めている。日本各地の展覧 会では、現地のキュレーター、美術家などと交流をしながら、西洋の概念と 東 洋の視点との融合を試みる。その融合は絵画における”直感”の意味を探求する 豊かな土壌を築く 更なる発展の鍵となるだろう。

We are pleased to announce the exhibition "The Act of Painting “Intuition” (Works on Paper)" at Gallery Echo-Ann (Flat) Ginza Tokyo. It is the second traveling exhibition in Japan by the artist collective, "The Act Of Painting" (TAOP) based in the Netherlands.
TAOP is an international artist collective that travels around the world in search of the meaning of abstract paintings. Their theme for the traveling exhibition in Japan this year is "intuition" reflected on works on paper.
We hope this will be an opportunity for you to feel/think about abstract paintings.

The Act of Painting, Intuition (works on paper)
Intuition covers a great deal of what The Act of Painting collective's exhibitions and projects are about. Selected artists are concerned with making visible the unconscious. In the process of painting, the act itself is often hundredths of a second ahead of the thought. With the brush as an extension of the body's awareness, practitioners create a painterly environment in which their own presence is essential. They are part of the space they are creating and are simultaneously observing, appraising and considering their actions. Thus the works they create are closely related to their personal consciousness. Depending on existential differences the works may have a gestural appearance or a more constructed figure.
In these works on paper the abstract notion of the unconscious is being inserted into the image, adapted, materialized. The works on paper can be seen as personal notes of the artists, journals, studies for large-scaled monumental works. They are thoughts, volatile, searching, non-fixed images. There is room for experiment, the works are less loaded than an oil painting for instance. The lightness provides the brain an opportunity to manifest itself in a more intuitive way.
In this series of exhibitions, starting in Tokyo at Gallery Echo-Ann and continuing at Park Hotel Tokyo, and Takarazuka Arts Center the artist's collective The Act of Painting establishes itself as an international platform for abstract artists. Furthermore, the collective explores new ways of approaching painting. By inviting Japanese artists to participate in the shows, The Act of Painting is merging the eastern vision with the European notion of intuitive painting. The fusion can prove to be a fertile ground for further development in defining intuition.

Intuition Summer Festival 2009. Het was weer een topfeest. Hemelse trance onder een strak blauwe hemel. Jammer dat het geluid in de buitenarea niet echt top was. Binnen was het net een dampende sauna 's avonds. Dat bleek wel want alle lenzen besloegen, waardoor het focussen binnen lastig was. Al met al toch nog een aardig setje, dat de sfeer van de dag goed weergeeft. Beleef die topdag en jullie party-momenten nu nog één keer opniew, door de slideshow te draaien. Thx. again Paul voor de leuke foto's! En Menno en Alda, respect! Jullie zijn er weer ingeslaagd om een topfeest neer te zetten. Pachtige line-up met de beste trance van het moment! Klasse! En last but not least, thx. to all nice partypeople and dj's for the nice photo-opportunities. Het was weer fun om jullie allemaal ontmoet te hebben :) Vooral de mini-after in de camper van Anja was erg gezellig :) Leuk om nog even door te gaan tot 03.00 uur op de parkeerplaats. Thx. Frans & Ginny voor de music en ride home! Moeten we vaker doen :)

Have you ever trusted your intuitions? Sometimes trusting your intuitions can prove to be the right decision. A lot of people have shared their experiences of trusting their “sixth sense” which proved to be the right decision for them. A lady once reported that she had to go to out with her husband for the long weekend to some distant island. They had booked their tickets and were ready to leave. The lady said that she was feeling nauseous and she felt like something signed her not to go. It was her sixth sense or her intuitions that told her to stay but she did not herself believe in these signs. The next morning when she woke up she was feeling sick and therefore they canceled their plan. One of the lady’s friends suggested that he could go in their place with his wife and they all agreed.
