In an era where the world is so crazy and our lives have become so hectic it's easy to forget to take time for ourselves and reflect. Sometimes its the simple task of knowing that our current lives and the present version of ourselves is enough. When we are always striving to become better, contentment can often become the greatest gift of all.

Jam Imani Rad has a rare moment of introspection.

A satirical look at the world of Jam Imani Rad of Preston, Lancashire, UK. A man with one supreme cause: HIMSELF

Guess what I found in the household clutter center by my basement door… a disco ball! (It's about the size of a softball.) When you live with a musician, you never know what you're going to find around the house, I guess. The little plastic people encouraged me to put it to good use.

Introspection

Just couldn't come up with anything for this challenge. And then I saw what Allison posted and thought I could copy her idea. I took a photo of one of my needlepoints in progress. Just added a border and the Charcoal Sketch look in Topaz.

i do needlepoint while watching TV, but it is a good way for me to calm my mind.

I had an appointment this week with my hip Doctor at Duke. I hadn't seen him since December of 2019! He is an Orthopedic Oncologist who specializes in the type of tumor I have... PVNS. It is not cancer but it creates havoc nonetheless. The clinic was busy and it always makes me look inward to be thankful for what I have and to bless the others who are not as lucky. How to photograph that?

I think this image is a good example why you shouldn't be quick to delete a photo from your camera. I happened to snap this one at the very moment she blinked. My immediate thought was "delete." But then I considered the expression on her face and thought it looked like she was just soaking in the nature around her.

my little introspective gangsta, and one of the loves of my life!

Vacations provide lots of time for quiet introspection. Last night I went to the Niblic dock, walked the length of the beach, and sat on the rocks at Roses Point for over an hour, alone with my thoughts under the full moon. Between the bug spray and wine I’d brought, the mosquitoes didn’t bother me at all! It was a gorgeous, cool night, and the water was so still that it didn’t make a sound along the shoreline. Not another soul disturbed my quiet time, which I appreciated. When I finally left, I headed over to the Chandler’s Cove dock to do a little more night photography.

"Hushed Offering," my intention was to capture a moment of profound introspection and the quiet weight of personal devotion within a realm of deep shadow. This piece explores the interplay between overwhelming darkness and a focused, internal light, symbolizing hope, vulnerability, or a silent communion. The figure, cast almost entirely in silhouette with head bowed, embodies a deep sense of humility or deep thought, their hands gently holding what appears to be a small, illuminated object or offering.

A stark, narrow beam of light cuts through the pervasive gloom, illuminating the textured, possibly damp, ground and highlighting the delicate gesture of the hands. This light, while sparse, creates a powerful contrast that emphasizes the figure's solitary existence within the vast darkness. The rough texture of the wall in the background adds to the sense of a confined, almost forgotten, space. It's a contemplation on the universal act of quiet reverence, the search for meaning in solitude, and the powerful narrative that can be conveyed through minimal elements and striking light.

No Photoshop, only mental lights. Some minor tweaking of contrast and brightness and the clarity setting, eez all.

Totally unrealistic colouring added, but I think it's appropriate given the mood of the location.

Resignation and introspection, thinking deep thoughts about life and everything that has happened in our family recently. This photo of my daughter portrays a sense of finality and sadness that comes with the passing of a loved one. There is a bit of a lost feeling here that is tangible. We do know we will see my dad again in heaven, but grief is not an easy thing to deal with. It is something all humans have in common.

Psalm 116:15 (KJV)

" Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."

"Robbins' intense introspection in the 1970s assumed a different form. Instead of conventional journals to write in, he purchased long, narrow accordion journals from the Japanese retailer Takashimaya on 5th Avenue. In the initial entry to the first journal, on October 25, 1971, Robbins writes that what excites him about the journals is "the idea of double time"--the time of his writing and the time of someone else reading his words. He is aware of writing to be read. For him, the satisfaction is in the "immediate moment of my putting down each word.""
