Introspection - stepping inside your soul

What would it be like to live underwater instead?

"You do not have to be good.

You do not have to walk on your knees

for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.

You only have to let the soft animal of your body

love what it loves"

A moment of reflection........

#788 - 365 2010 Day 57: The vague amusement of introspection ...

"These are the days of turning toward the innerself, of increasingly taking possession of oneself, which, under apparent repose, goes on in the most intimate workings of the heart."

Sunlight filters through delicate leaves, casting intricate patterns on the serene face of a young woman with striking blue eyes. Her expression reflects a deep connection with the surrounding environment, highlighting both tranquility and introspection. Soft shadows dance across her skin, enhancing her natural beauty while the vibrant hues of the outdoors create a dreamlike atmosphere.

Starting in January 2014, I have been offering my Facebook fans a one-a-day inspirational quote on the backdrop of my photography or paintings. Here they all are - if you'd like the stories that go along with each quote, visit my public Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DominiqueHurleyArt

These thoughts were very near as I half-heartedly ate my Chinese takeout dinner alone that evening. The next morning I started scooping the leftover crumbs into the trash and remembered the fortune cookie. This was its message …

Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be
