Piranga olivacea
(Scarlet tanager / Tรกngara rojinegra migratoria)
The smallest of the four species of the genus Piranga that breed north of Mexico, it is a long-distance Neotropical migrant, annually making the journey between northwestern South America and the eastern United States and southern Canada.
This tanager is monogamous and aggressively territorial throughout its range. It is largely insectivorous, foraging heavily on the larvae of Lepidoptera and a variety of adult insects by hovering and gleaning.

What I am here for:
โข To post SL photos created through a blend of creativity and skill, between myself and others.
โข To model as a Second Life Flickr Model
โข To enjoy the created works of others in SL, just like me.
What I'm not here for:
โข Drama, I don't want it.
โข Romance, or the creation of some SL Flickr Model stable or harem
and there were plenty of new ones for 'H' including the little waterfall on the pathway for Cwm Idwal :)
The Balletstarts in sets, introductions, the show, and the ending. I'm not sure of everything to do with Ballet but I do know they work hard to make a performance one that will never go forgotten
White-winged Doves (Zenaida asiatica) are semi-tropical doves whose native range extends from the southwestern U.S. through Mexico and Central America, into parts of western South America, and to some Caribbean islands. They are also residents in Florida, where they were introduced. The majority of White-winged Doves are seasonally migratory. They overwinter in Mexico and Central America and come to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico in April to breed, departing again in September. Some will overwinter in their breeding range, especially in residential areas where food remains available. In the southern parts of their range, they are year-round residents. There are twelve subspecies of White-winged Doves. Western or Desert White-winged Doves (Zenaida asiatica mearnsii) and Eastern White-winged Doves (Zenaida asiatica asiatica) are the most numerous and widely distributed subspecies.
Introductions of Mexican birds started in Florida in 1959 in Homestead, Dade County, and the FWC subsequently captured their offspring and released them as far north as Lake County. Since then, there are occurrences of year-round birds, and breeding now occurs in the state. Night roosts of more than 1,000 doves have been reported in Polk County. Flocks fly out to surrounding fields each morning to feed on wild seeds and fruits. These nonmigratory breeding birds are all derived from introductions.
I found this one in my yard with several more of its species. I now see more of these dove in Central Florida than the Mourning Dove!
This location doesn't need any introduction I guess! :-)
One of the most beautiful place on Earth...

I knew how Critter would react so I didn't push them meeting.
The tabby's boys however were a mystery. I had no idea how they would react to the newcomer.
When Kevin was here for those first 2 weeks, the tabbys knew he was around but they didn't seem bothered.
I thought Tex would have an issue as he has an issue with Slinky and will chase her whenever he can or if he see's her at the window he will throw himself at it to scare her.
I thought he would be the same with Kevin but when he saw him through the window he didn't even approach it. He looked, then kept on walking.
He was the first to go up to Kevin, no hissing, no arched back, no nothing. In fact Tex was completely submissive and wanted to smooch him straight away. Kev wasn't too sure as i don't think he has been around other cats much or if he had, he hadn't been around smoochy ones like mine.
Next came Ted and Tom and same reaction, basically no reaction. This is Ted in the photo.
Progress is going well. Critter is being Critter but he is doing ok.

Thanks go to BingleymanPhotos for making the introductions, but these Hawthorns now seem like old friends to me having shot them on so many occasions now, the difference being here, that I wanted to photograph them throughout the seasons and especially with some some snow around.

After two years of house rehabs, moving, Photodog Bobs cancer and his loss in that battle, my heart wasnโt into solo adventures. I missed my partner so much. My new rescue, Link, and I had our first day out yesterday. New meets old. And so it begins, again.
Here Rags and Caithlin are confirming their friendship after the ordeal, while Bastian is looking. :)
The "bringing together" of Bastian and the Somalis have been completed according to plan and in relative harmony - i.e with a minimum of hissing and growling and no serious fighting. They don't love each other, but they can be in the same room - well done for adult cats aged 5 to 8ยฝ...

That has been eliminated by my mistake.
This little cowgirl on her first introduction to a horse. The horse was calm and the child smitten for life. A beautiful moment to witness.

Staring into a camera lens for a picture is just about as difficult for me as keeping my hair out of my face (apparently). BRUNO: "It is a small world! Gigi, does Ellie mean you when she talks about a pink elephant?"
GIGI: "I am not quite sure, but it could be..."
BRUNO: "Only how many elephants with the name Gigi will there be? That will certainly mean you... "
BรLA: "But nobody knows me! I prefer to remain inconspicuous..."
BRUNO: "But you are being introduced... - Dear friends, this little bear is Bรฉla and he is still a very young bear, while Gigi has been living here for a while! But of the three of us, I am definitely the oldest..."
BรLA: "Good day to you, dear friends of Bruno!"
BRUNO: "Sigh! Dear Bรฉla, the ladies have the right of way... It means Ladies first."
BรLA: "First come, first served."
GIGI: "Can I now? Dear distant cousin Ellie and dear bearish friends of Bruno, I wish you all the love in the world!"

This amazing gentleman Dale has the car in the carport. He loves his MGA and used to drive it and I think he may take it around the block a time or two. Dale has Cerebral Palsy, doctors told his mother that he had a very short mortality rate. His selfish mother gave him up. Nothing can stop this 78 year old man. He worked for Florida Department of Transportation, he was an inspector for signs, reflectors, lighting. He wanted to take me for a ride, not wanting to hurt his feelings, I said next time. Dale lives alone and I thank the family who helps when needed. My Easter touched my heart ๐
