As part of their Democratic Art Exhibition, a one off framed print of this photograph, 100 x 70cm (frame) 70 x 50 cm (picture) was on display in Habitat in Dublin in late 2007.

It was also one of the first Flickr images licenced by Getty Images.

He's not sure what to think. He just walked up out of the brush and finds me sitting there, watching him. Both of us quite surprised by the other. So as to not to give away his intimidation he just nods his head in acknowledgment and walks right next to me, so close I had to put the camera down to keep him from hitting it. Life is full of surprises. ❤️

------------------------------ JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS ALONE!

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so they might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH! Because JESUS LOVES YOU! ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Now that I said that; my neighbors and coworkers, will make sure I see them putting theirs in the trash, a dumpster or on the ground. Really, that’s the way it goes here. Senior management allows them to do so, their offices are on the 2nd floor of my building. Its called baiting; the perps here in Yosemite National Park have it perfected….

Mante d'Halloween

Une Mante religieuse, en posture d'intimidation, telle un monstre d'Halloween

Well here goes...I was tagged by my buddy Donn about 3 weeks ago ...

10 things about me...hummmmmm.

1- I'm a recovered addict/alcoholic ...12 yrs and counting 1 day at a time....and by the Grace of God ...He removed the obsessions.....

2- I love life at it's fullest....even my bad days sober are better than my best days drunk or stoned .....

3- I really don't give a crap what people think or say about me...it ain't none of my buisness ....mostly means they are to chicken shit to look at themselves...

4-I love to laugh....I take life very seriously....but tend to go to the lighter side of it...especially when it comes to me....

5- I'm French Canadian...I've been bilingual since the age of 12...more by need than by choice...but good thing mom pushed me....

6- I rode a 53 Harley hard tail for 29 years....one of the reasons why some days I can hardly get out of bed...such is life....but man what a freaking ride it was...no regrets.....

7- I live by the code of " Live and let live "

what you do is your responsibility...not mine....if you ask for my opinion I shall give it to you... but be prepared...lol...I never tell people what to do...i can only give suggestions based on my life experiences the past and the today...

8-I love photography.....it's my new obsession ( healthy ) and it keeps mr grounded with nature and my feelings, I live through my pics...I see my past in all of God's little creatures and bring them into my todays....hence the lighter side of life....I will laugh at myself....not others.

9- I posted a pic of what I used to look like....who I used to be...or thought I was. The big arms and tattoos were used for intimidation....now they are but a conversation piece...

10- I'm not the man I want to be, I'm not the man I ought to be....but by the Grace of God....I'm not the man I used to be.......

So there...just a little bit about me...but never be shy to ask me anything....I have nothing to hide...

Peace & Love

I’ve been from the east coast, to the west, from the northern most states to the southern. I have seen the best that Americans have to offer. Sadly, here in Yosemite National Park; I see the worst. Even during a Pandemic, they show how amoral they can be. The incompetence, corruption and cover-up is beyond imaginable. This includes the Regional Office in San Fan, the Superintendents Office here, Law Enforcement, some First Responders and many Contractors. God forbid you expose this community of unethical proportion.

I left out early to catch the sunrise. It was 5:00 am, and I was heading out of Yosemite Village. As I drive through the housing area; two young perps involved in Yosemite’s Mobbing Community, were waiting at an intersection (at 5 am, during a Pandemic). One waving a cigarette; that was the beginning of another toxic day. I head out with my camera and the haters have hissy-fits.

I had NPS employees waiting to stall me; so others could set up at the Post Office. I hadn’t checked my mail in a couple days. People that only show up when they need the bottom feeders, were in my face, waiting at my car. Wouldn't you say Susie, Dave. My neighbors pulling their same childish skits. Yep, folks, its another beautiful day in the park.

I’ll continue to shine light on the truth. Thanks for visiting my photostream.

Marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus hassi) - Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos National Park, Ecuador

I'm back from my travels and ready to share some images with everyone! The galapagos are full of charismatic and unique creatures, but for me the most emblematic of the fauna of the Galapagos has to be the marine iguana. These lizards can be found on the beaches of the different islands that make up the Galapagos. I was lucky to visit during the mating season and was fortunate enough to witness some territorial disputes. Each mature male maintained a territory, some of the more successful males had a large amount of females within their territories whereas others had few or none. The largest male iguana on the beach (individual on the left) had a territory with many females and was constantly facing down challengers. Sometimes just a show of intimidation would be enough to send away smaller males but at other times it was insufficient and a physical fight would ensue. The two males would butt heads and strain and push attempting to move their opponents backwards, if an iguana lost too much ground it would typically stand down and back off. The large male was challenged again and again and always seemed to come out on top, infact he had vanquished the smaller male on the right a number of times before this particular bout. However the challenger kept coming back again and again, this fight lasted longer than any of the others as the larger iguana must have been tired from fighting his other neighbors. He did eventually persevere and defeat the smaller male on the right yet again. Despite being bloodied neither of the iguanas seemed much worse for wear and retired back to their favorite basking spots in their respective neighboring territories.

Art exhibition at an abandoned prison in Berlin. The exhibition was a bit of a surprise for us, but actually quite an interesting one. One part of the building can be freely explored as a lost place (if you book a tour), while the other part of the building (the considerably smaller women's sector) is a memorial for one of the most brutal acts of SA terror in the summer of 1933, known as "the week of bloodshed". The SA hordes kidnapped and tortured more than 500 Berliners who were thought to be opponents of the new National Socialist regime, at least 23 of them died (other sources speak of nearly 100), others were crippled for a lifetime. This place served as a coordination office for the detentions, and as torture prison during the "week of bloodshed". Actions like the "week of bloodshed" served as purges, intimidation of political opponents, and "consolidation" of the new political system. They were a bitter foretaste of what was to come, and revealed the brutality and "real agenda" of National Socialism at a very early stage of the fascist reign.

The building complex consists of the district court and the prison section, it was built between 1899 and 1901. The atmosphere in the jail section, as was to be expected, was extremely oppressing. The cells are incredibly small and dark, way smaller than cells today, illuminated by very small windows and "furnished" only with narrow wooden plank beds. There were no toilets in the cells, back in the day the prisoners had to use buckets.

Later that day we met --Conrad-N-- at the Reichstag Dome, and he remarked that Sabine and I had made quite a career: from prison straightaway to the German Federal Parliament ;-)

Processed in Aurora HDR.

The exhibition shows paintings by Gerald Steenweg.

I first posted a pic of Cawra our our resident crow, over a month ago.

We suspect she (he) has been moved on by it's parents who claim the nearby field. Certainly on occasion she has hidden uner our patio table as the much bigger crows have come in search of her.

It looks however despite the attempted intimidation that she will hang around for sometime

Leftovers from the Ferguson Fire. I drive through this area often, the devastation and it’s scars will impact the park for generations. Much like the incompetence, corruption, waste, fraud and cover-ups; I’ve witnessed in the past three years, here in Yosemite National Park. It’s sickens me, the guest that visit are paying for it. They pay with their wallets, they pay with their patients; in long lines, no parking, walking for miles to get to the Village, as cars fill the air with pollution, minimal/inadequate or no services, unsafe and over-crowed conditions, paying $30 just to get through the gates for all this.. Families come here to enjoy this majestic place; instead they waist their day in traffic and long lines.

Oh, then there’s the Workplace Mobbing, Community Stalking, Gang Stalking and Retaliation; for those of us that have the balls to tell the truth.

I interact with guest daily; what do I tell them when they ask me “What’s it like living here?”. Do I tell them the truth?

After we assisted our fellow brothers to disable Munificent-class Frigates above Muunilinst, we rushed to the crystal planet of Christophsis to help Senator Bail Organa. We are ordered with manning the barricades at Organa’s command post and fend off the massive droid army that is coming our way.

Upon arrival at the command station, we were greeted by a handful of Christophsian soldiers dressed in faded blue uniforms who will help us to fend off the Clanckers. There was still some time left to prepare for their attack. We planted some mines on the main road to the command station to slow the droid army down. A tactic the Christophsian soldiers and clone forces had already used on multiple occasions in this battle.

After we put all of the mines in place, we couldn’t really do anything else but wait. Suddenly we heard a zooming noice in the distance. Shortwire looked through his binoculars and saw some STAP Speeders approaching. The Clanckers sent their first wave of troops. Not really a challange, more an intimidation tactic. We made quick work of those STAPs. Not long after, we started to hear the sound of metal footsteps marching towards us in big numbers. Not knowing what would come for us. The real fight was about to begin!

Kaboso and Cub.

Zebra Plains Mara Camp, Masai Mara, Kenya, November 2019.

The calm before the storm.

Not long after this photo had been taken a troop of baboons decided to move into the gully where Kaboso and her cub were resting. The Baboons casual manner led us to believe that they had not seen the Leopards to begin with but that soon changed. Kaboso held her own against the larger Baboons but it was a manic fight as they had cornered her into the crook of a tree. There was so much screeching and hissing and we feared for the cub who had made a hasty retreat into the undergrowth. The intimidation of Kaboso went on for what seemed like an age but eventually the troop of Baboons started to leave, apart from a few stragglers who wanted to continue the ruckus. One turned into at least four large Baboons jumping around, snarling and goading Kaboso. She fought back but she was pinned in and surrounded so eventually she had to flee to safety.

Thankfully, the cub and Kaboso were safe.

There was no sign of the Kaboso Male who had obviously disappeared at the first appearance of the Baboons.

You just had to be there to witness the incident to fully understand how frenzied the attack was.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" MM theme. Looking down the barrel of a snubnose .38 special revolver. All about the situation and intent I suppose. Weapon held in a vice before a black felt background. Less than 2 1/2 inches. Provocative by intent.

As our cities, becoming controlled by mobs and thugs. Brazenly, storming stores anytime of day. Breaking, stealing, without fear. Our communities, being controlled by mobs, stalkers, racist; driving out those, they deem not worthy. Law Enforcement, standing idle; blaming the judicial system, making excuses.

Our schools, public venues; being stormed by those waiving weapons, designed for war. The truth being stricken from them. Becoming a stigma, a mental illness, for those that dare speak it.

Our Legislator, turning their backs on their districts, as they implode. Pretending they care, keeping us occupied with lies and division. Treating us like ignorant adolescents. Filling their pockets and banks, by the corporations, they represent. Our Administration, savvy from years of the same. Government Agencies, taking liberties; with no accountability. Our Nation; descends further into chaos and anarchy.

Witnessing Mont Aiguille under this tumultuous sky, I knew immediately that this scene demanded black and white treatment. The drama unfolding above - those towering cumulus clouds building and churning - transformed this already imposing peak into something almost mythical, a fortress caught between earth and sky.

My intention was to strip away the pastoral softness of color and reveal the raw geological power of this place. In monochrome, Mont Aiguille becomes what it truly is: an ancient monument of stone, carved by millennia of erosion into this impossible form. The black and white palette emphasizes the sculptural quality of both mountain and clouds, creating a dialogue between two powerful natural forces - solid rock and volatile atmosphere.

What drew me to this dramatic interpretation was how it connects to the mountain's history. When people first gazed upon Mont Aiguille centuries ago, calling it "inaccessible," they must have felt this same sense of awe and intimidation. The monochrome treatment removes temporal markers, creating an image that could have been made in any era, reinforcing the timeless presence of this geological wonder.

This image celebrates Mont Aiguille not as a scenic backdrop, but as what it is: one of nature's great architectural achievements, standing defiant against time and weather.

Habe ich aber auch schon mit vertauschten Rollen gesehen.

Crow tries to intimidate a kestrel.

But I've also seen roles reversed.

Turmfalke_332_7483

We are used to seeing pictures like this of owlets but one does not normally see adults huddled together in contact. These two parents are in one of the spots between buildings where they went to escape chronic crow mobbings at and near their nest site. A few crows would buzz them in this spot but most would remain on utility wires above using verbal intimidation alone.

Their owlets would be elsewhere and unbothered by the crows.

In early November, before the second wave really locked down eastern Ontario, I drove down to Prince Edward County for a day of birding. My friend Paul (who lives there) and I drove separate vehicles, and we did not see another person the whole day - and we were rigorous about distancing with each other.

The day we picked, mid-week, coincided with a brief weird warm spell. That meant being outside was easier, though the high winds that accompanied the warm weather drove birds off Long Point, home of the Prince Edward Point National Wildlife Area.

One group of birds that enjoyed the warmth and hung around for us was a small flock of six Greater Yellowlegs. They had declared the nearly waterless Long Point Harbour their adopted home. After a few years of freakishly high water levels, water so high that it posed serious challenges to Pelee Island for example, the water in Lake Ontario had dipped significantly, exposing the harbour bottom. The horizontal lines, which I really like in the image, are a few remaining drain lines of water.

The geography of the area meant that my access to the edge of the harbour, and its mucky bottom that I got to smell all the way home after getting covered in it, backlit the birds. The low sun in November gave us few options. So I hunkered down, trying to keep my camera (if nothing else) free of the muck.

The birds were delightfully relaxed, flushing instinctively for no reason every half hour or so and then returning to the business of feeding up before a late trip down south. They were flushed once by a Northern Shrike that had watched them from up in the canopy for a while, but the chase seemed more like intimidation than like real hunting. Lots of screaming and excitement, but the Shrike gave up after a bit and resumed its perch in the canopy. And the Yellowlegs resumed their search of the harbour muck.

Because of the opposite problem - unusually high water levels - there was very little shorebird activity along the Ottawa River this fall, so this was a great way to spend the morning.

I've been trying to get over the absolute intimidation I feel when even looking at Photoshop CC...lol. I did this as more of a "skill builder" than anything else. Not the type of thing I normally do but it was fun. It started as a snapshot of a wonderfully done '57 Chevy from a show and shine at Hot August Nights last night. It was so late that I had no choice but to use on-camera flash and it came out as poor as you'd expect. That and the clutter in the background made it just a snapshot so I decided to lose the clutter and get crazy with it.

If anyone knows the expert artisan who did the work on the car or the owner(s) of the car, I'd love to credit him or her (or take the image down if they're bothered by my posting it),

CC 100% welcome...

This shot is not as sharp as I would have liked., so I turned off comments. The other shot in the first comment box was taken a split second later and it is sharp so comments are turned on.

My daughter told me that she wanted to go to Tokyo Tower. So, we did.

Elika got injured twice by the same boy at school and needed to go to hospital. It took two to three weeks to recover. The physical pain is recovering but the psychological pain still remains. She suffers insomnia and could not go to sleep. She has a nightmare that the boy slashed her throat...etc. The school has not done anything yet. The boy's parents still keep silence.

Elika and I went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and talked their lawyer on Jan 7. I talked to them again and they said that they will visit the school on Jan 17 and will investigate the school violence, stealing, harassment, bullying, and intimidation. I hope this will resolve the problem. Meanwhile, Elika needs to stay home and cannot get education she supposed to get. The public school system in Japan is terrible. In my opinion, the boy should be suspended or expelled.

Thank you for your support and friendship. Lika

Being a country boy, wandering around this part of London, with exposed steel, glass, and the imposing structures, it's easy to be both in awe and intimidated by what you find... love it!

When is an eye not an eye? There are many butterflies and moths that have developed what appear to be an extra set of eyes. In the tropical Americas, butterflies of the genus Caligo are known for having large round eyespots on their hindwings that resemble the eyes of owls, giving them their common name of Owl Butterflies. These distinct eyespots (or ocelli) are highly distinguishable from the rest of the animals' body or wing patterns. It is thought that these eyespots are used as a form of intimidation, mimicking the eyes of predators. An attacking animal may suddenly think they are facing another larger and potentially dangerous animal, and in the confusion give the butterfly a brief but precious opportunity to escape.

This little guy was not too impressed by me and my camera this afternoon; whenever I'd lift the camera to my face he would pose similar to what's pictured here and just stare intently, as if trying to frighten off the intimidating lens.

It didn't work; I got this shot and snapped a few more before heading inside.

Although, I could have stopped with this one. It turned out pretty cute.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Dipsas vermiculata - Cordillera Escalera Conservation Area, Peru

This snake was a very welcome find one rainy day as myself and my labmate searched for Ranitomeya variabilis. We were checking bromeliads up in the cloud forest for the poison frogs with limited success and I peeked into yet another bromeliad and saw this snake nestled in among the axils, it was actually partially submerged in the water that had accumulated in there. Dipsas are always a cool species to see, they are often quite gorgeous and I never get tired of seeing the different species with different patterns. Like all Dipsas sp. this one feeds on slugs and snail which are abundant in the wet epiphyte laden forest of the mountains.

It emerged from the bromeliad and put on a bit of a show for us flattening its head and trying to look intimidating. This is a common technique for snakes to appear bigger and more threatening. Perhaps this would have been successful but we knew that not only are Dipsas harmless in terms of possessing no venom they're also very mild mannered snakes that are extremely reluctant to bite even when handled. After the photo session it was guided back into its original hiding place and it happily coiled up in the axils.

The boogeyman really does come out at night and its ME. This picture turned out way more creepy than I thought it would. I LOVE IT.

As I reach out with heart and soul, trying to improve the conditions, expose the fraud, waste, corruption, mobbing, harassment and whistleblower retaliation here in Yosemite; I’m told “we are sorry to learn of your frustration”. Frustrating my ass; it’s criminal and that’s putting it mildly, this crap has been going on for over ten years. Using words like frustrating is another way to try and minimize what actually goes on here. The ground work for cover-up has begun. As my neighbors, coworkers, managers and others that live and work in the park continue their Community Mobbing, Harassment and Retaliation.

Yosemite will remain Extremely Toxic and Corrupt until there is common sense and accountability. Why is that so hard to understand? Until then, you may want to leave your dignity at the gate.

Putting the haters to the side, look at what a beautiful day it is. This was taken with 9 images. I had my head in the clouds. Now you see why I fight so hard, so people can be treated with dignity here.

Thank you and Flickr for giving me the opportunity to expose the Truth. Doing so, is becoming more dangerous each and every day, in the United States.

Many years ago; I trusted our government. I trusted our presidents. I trusted law enforcement. I believed in what I read. Believed in what I saw in the evening news. It wasn’t until after I served this country, came home, tried to settle back in; I realized how naive, ignorant, I had been. The trust I had lost, seemed so long ago, yet seems like yesterday. I see it every day.

I see so many, falling for the same. Unable to look past their ignorance, their self-absorption. Believing in grifters, trusting tonics, snake oils. Their patriotism, coasting on broken words. Lost in their own obsessions.

I even see veterans; ignorant to the tarnish, they cast upon the valor of the fallen. The tarnish, they cast upon a constitution, they once swore an oath to defend, uphold. I see them walk the halls of our VA Hospitals. I see them walk the aisles of Walmart. I see their anticipation, their eagerness, to desecrate a fellow veteran. I witness, many others; brandishing a flag, so many have fallen for. Their false courage, protected by numbers and others. All in the name of hearsay. All for the possibility, of being accepted. By a darkness, they will never understand, or try to.

Don’t trust everything you hear; because it’s repeated by power. Don’t trust everything you see; because it’s covered in roses. Dig deep, trust in yourself.

What I’ve been taught to see. At first, I was going to go into this rant about hate that is allowed to flourish here; then I took a couple of sips of fine bourbon, mellowed out a bit and thought of my upbringing. I’m thinking love, compassion, forgiveness, sharing and sacrifice. I see beauty…

Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated Thursday in Rawalpindi, was the first female prime minister of Pakistan and of any Islamic nation. She led Pakistan from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996.

Benazir Bhutto died Thursday after a suicide bombing at a political rally in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

Bhutto, 54, spent eight years in self-imposed exile in Great Britain and Dubai after President Farooq Leghari dismissed her second administration amid accusations of corruption, intimidation of the judiciary, a breakdown of law and order, and undermining the justice system.

She was found guilty of corruption and sentenced to five years in prison. The conviction was later overturned but she remained in exile until this year.

She returned to Pakistan in October after President Pervez Musharraf signed an amnesty lifting corruption charges. Watch political history of Bhutto »

"Bhutto was the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, former president and prime minister of Pakistan, who was hanged in 1979 for the murder of a political opponent two years after he was ousted as prime minister in a military coup. Benazir Bhutto was the de facto leader of her father's Pakistan People's Party.

Her brother, Murtaza, was killed along with six others in a 1996 shootout with police at his home. Another brother, Shahnawaz, died mysteriously in France in 1985.

"I know the past is tragic, but I'm an optimist by nature," Bhutto told Blitzer in September. "I put my faith in the people of Pakistan, I put my faith in God. I feel that what I am doing is for a good cause, for a right cause -- to save Pakistan from extremists and militants and to build regional security.

"I know the danger is out there, but I'm prepared to take those risks."

Benazir Bhutto earned degrees from Radcliffe College and Oxford University and received an honorary degree from Harvard University in 1989.

She leaves her husband of 20 years, Asif Ali Zardari, two daughters and a son.

Bhutto's husband issued a statement Thursday from his home in Dubai saying, "All I can say is we're devastated, it's a total shock."

"often, when an intruder is in the area, the green anole raises its spine, fans its dewlap, and does "push-ups" accompanied by intermittent ultrasonic hisses..." well, i can verify that! i meant to upload this long ago to accompany (www.flickr.com/photos/fidd/8873329841) which i prefer aesthetically, but not in potential humor or color. plus, he didn't have that terrifying dewlap/pushup/hissing thing going on in the other. i simply felt all must bear witness to the fearsome anole who roams three square meters and one water pipe in my backyard!
