I was lucky to get front row position as I had no telephoto on my Canon Auto S-2. I had a sticker from Mad magazine that said PRESS your pants while you wait. I showed that to the Guardia Civil and he let me go to front with other Press photographers. There were thousands of people here for the festival and it cost 1 dollar in 1967. It is much more elaborate today and very expensive for front row access. I don't think the PRESS trick would work today.

Colour-spactacular festivities for the Inti Raymi Sun Festival continuing in central Plaza de Armas before progressing towards Sacsayhuman.
Haukaypata (Plaza de Armas)
Mighty Sun
Today is a big day
We must rejoice
He said that only the heart greens
Blown by strong wind
My Sun! My Sun!
It appears once my sun!
It appears once my sun!
My sun! My sun!
Now sends the heat
It go as cold
My sun!
Came the party of the Sun
To rejoice
Came the day the Sun
To rejoice
