Only yesterday did we showcase a brand new poster for Christopher Nolan’s INTERSTELLAR, with lead Matthew McConaughey exploring an icy planet. Today we have another featuring the “renaissance man” in a more emotional pose alongside Mackenzie Foy, playing the younger version of...

Hans Zimmer brought his spectacular live show to Britain's biggest indoor arena - the Manchester Arena (aka AO) above Man Vic station on Friday 16th June 2023. With the Orchestra of the Odessa Opera in residence and host of talented multi-instrumentalists, there wre up to 45 people on stage at any one time. Zimmer seemed to be enjoying himself and engaged widely with the audience during a two-part three hour set that covered music from 31 film scores. The ariel ballet sequence accompanying Interstellar was magical. Manc lad Johnny Marr of the The The and The Smiths joined his son Nile Marr on guitar for the last couple of numbers; Niall being a permanent member of Zimmer's entourage.

This image in mid-infrared reveals cold interstellar dust that permeates our galaxy the Milky Way. Invisible to our eyes, the dust glows faintly in infrared due to it being slightly warmer than the surrounding space. The bright spot in the centre is the galaxy M81.

NGC6960 and NGC697 -The smoked Witch broomstick
The Veil Nebula complex is huge, covering about 7 moon widths on the sky, so I can’t get it all into one image. This image shows NGC6960 (called “The Witch’s Broom”) on the top and Pickering’s triangle, NGC6979, at right. All of these objects are part of a supernova remnant.
Why is this image special for me?
During image processing, structures were revealed that I believe are interstellar dust (IFN). IFN stands for Integrated Flux Nebula, and is mostly made up of space dust illuminated.
IFN is not considered a nebulous object as there is no star formation activity going on, but rather just interstellar dust. IFN is mostly composed of dust particles, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and very minor traces of other elements.
IFN is not illuminated by the stars near it but rather by the integrated flux of every star in our galaxy. This means that IFN clouds are very faint without any brighter regions, making them very difficult to photograph.
This image was acquired in the august 2024. I moved about 200 km in search of a dark sky. Vega del Codorno - Spain. It is a Bortle 2.

It’s all about Time!
It’s time I finally cruised on in with my own recolour of the Interstellar space ship designed by @aaronbrickdesigner
Inspired to join in on the fun by @lego.joey @fleebnork @fazoom7 @mbgilliam45 @danishspaceprogram @troublesbricking @angusmaclane and many more!
TimeCruisers is one of my top 5 fave themes. Not only because I grew up reading the comics. But the action and sense of adventure in the sets them selves led my childhood into many worlds of imagination. Also the absolute ridiculousness of parts used to make their wacky contraptions was hilariously fun!
