On an afternoon stroll through some quiet back alleys in Lawrenceville I stopped at this spot overwelmed by the quality of the light reflecting off the earthy red buildings and yellow cobblestone, and casting striking shadows of poles, wires and utilities.
Peter Kuper's INterSECTS: Where Arthropods and Homo Sapiens Meet at the New York Public Library
The text here states "It is estimated that there are ten quintillion (10,000,000,000,000,000,000) insects on earth. That's more than 200 million insects for each person."
The illustrations are from artist Peter Kuper's soon to be released graphic novel which he worked on during a fellowship at the library. He began the project while the library was closed to the public at the start of the covid pandemic and imagined the almost empty building occupied by insects.

Eagle Valley Steak Feed in Richland Oregon along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway
Celebrating the end of Summer in Richland Oregon at the Eagle Valley Steak Feed
Hells Canyon Scenic Byway is a loop that encircles the Wallowa Mountains, intersecting with Interstate 84 at Baker City and La Grande. Small towns, scattered along the drive, offer visitor services and a chance to explore small town life in the American West.
Small towns along the byway host numerous community events and festivals throughout the year including the annual Eagle Valley Steak Feed in the small ranching community of Richland.
These community festivals offer visitors a glimpse at Small town rural America.
While a portion of the byway on USF Road 39 closes due to snow in the winter, Hwy 86 between Baker City and the Hells Canyon Dam at the bottom of the canyon is open year round providing visitors access to the deepest river gorge in North America.

The former Masonic Temple at 1-5 Church Street at Pearl Street in Burlington, Vermont was built in 1897-98 to be the state headquarters of the Grand Lodge of Vermont, Free and Accepted Masons. It was designed by John McArthur Harris of the noted Philadelphia firm of Wilson Bros. & Company in the Richardson Romanesque style.[1]
The building features a steep slate pyramid roof intersected in the middle of each side by a gable. The Pearl Street side of the building is notable for the staggered windows which provide light to one of the buildings staircases. Its upper floors were used for meetings of Masonic lodges and appendant orders, while the lower floors were used for retail and office purposes.
Today it is part of the Church Street Marketplace and is used exclusively as retail space and offices. 437

This is for Macro Mondays, the Vowel theme.
A very quick, desperate, last-minute attempt lol. It's about an inch across (the image not the attempt!).
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image! Happy Macro Mondays :)
