Intermediate Division Showmanship Contest winners in the State Youth Dairy Show at the Alabama National Fair in Montgomery Oct. 12 were from left Ashbee Norman of Montgomery in Montgomery County, first place; Davis Henry of Montgomery in Montgomery County, second place; Ty Jones of Montgomery in Montgomery County, third place; Lauren Clardy of Wetumpka in Elmore County, fourth place; and Matthew Padgett of Grove Hill in Clarke County, fifth place. Livestock shows at the Alabama National Fair are sponsored by the Alabama Farmers Federation and Alfa Insurance.

Because of the lack of rain here in the Top End this wet season, there's no water running across the road at Fogg Dam. This is where there's usually an abundance of fish for the birds to feed on. Yesterday, there were lots of Egrets and other water birds perched in trees and shrubs looking down into the water for a feed. There was even one sitting on the Croc Trap scanning the water below.

NS C40-9W #8936 leads an eastbound manifest past a rare Wabash intermediate signal in Delphi. As you can see, a replacement is already set to take it down. Now it will only be a matter of time before it comes down.
