EN: Wow! Interactive and dynamic displays! High school students from the Halifax area had the opportunity to connect with local Reservists to experience the many military occupations available on a part-time basis at the Willow Park Armoury, on 29 November 22.

Le 29 novembre 2022, les étudiants du secondaire de la région d’Halifax ont eu l’occasion de discuter avec des réservistes locaux pour faire l’expérience des nombreux emplois militaires qu’il est possible d’occuper à temps partiel au Manège militaire de Willow Park.

Web adaptation of IED’s interactive world project for Salone Del Mobile, Milan.
During the event, our small mini web interactive project became the home page of all schools of the IED group across the Globe.
This project stresses the importance of an international design school that brings together people from all over the world. Interviews with those people in their native language, and what IED means to them was the core of this event.
La fissure éruptive d’Ardoukoba, longue d’une douzaine de kilomètres, est située entre le Lac Assal et le golfe de Ghoubbat Al Kharab en Mer Rouge, dans une zone tectonique en extension permanente. Elle est constituée d’un grand nombre de spatter-cônes et de cônes de cendres, tous basaltiques. Certaines phases éruptives ont permis la formation de cônes de tuf par interaction entre le magma et de l’eau d’origine marine. De nombreux épanchements de lave se sont produits dans les 3000 dernières années. La fissure d’Ardoukoba est entrée en éruption pour la dernière fois en 1978, formant un cône de scories et plusieurs coulées de lave. L’éruption n’aura duré qu’une semaine. Cette zone volcanique résulte de la lente ouverture d’un océan entre l’Arabie et l’Afrique. Ce rift en partie émergé cours depuis la Mer Morte jusqu’au Mozambique. Djibouti se trouve au niveau d’une jonction triple entre les rifts de la Mer Rouge, d’Afrique de l’est et de l’Océan Indien.

At INTERACTIVE Pavilion we showcased a variety of the newest IT/technology related products from hardware and software to digital arts and sciences. People enjoyed experiencing and seeing the cutting-edge technology coming straight from Japan.

Brody is a young, sweet, FIV+ male who arrived at the shelter in July, 2008. He has extra toes on his front feet but is very tolerant about having them trimmed.
He enjoys spending time in the secured outdoor area, as well as playing with interactive toys and his cat friends. He is not aggressive toward other cats.
He is sociable with people, also, and likes to have his chin scratched. Brody is not a lap-cat.
With Kinect technology, the user is in control of a vehicle on a highway where he must avoid obstacles on the tracks and catch bonuses.

MYSTICAL COMPUTER ENVIRONMENTS
A Mystical, interactive, aesthetic, computer experience.
The Sensor System was used as part of Padgett’s artist-in-residency at Loughborough University with the C&CRS for COSTART, partly funded by the EPSRC Grant GR/M14517 Studies of Computer Support for Creative Work, Artists and Technologists in Collaboration.
8 sensors are located on each side of a 365cm x 365cm frame at 30cm high. The frame is in front of a screen 245cm wide and 180cm high. One person rotates the shape and chooses the colour, one person walks in the frame and extrudes smaller basic shapes.
When people move in the installation squares are generated in the axis they move. Rotation is added and intergalactic patterns result.
This interactive work breaks down the subject/object dualisms as the participant is also the work. Participants move around a sensor system to produce moving abstract designs that are purely aesthetic and join 2D design with a 3D, mystical, inner space.

Interactive Javascript template widget for use with Apple iBooks. The project was for an established publisher to create interactive childrens educational books. I created the button graphics on this image, but the largest part of the project was the javascript coding and helping the designer to incorporate his style into the template.
